Pierce, Reid

Charli Reid and Charles Pierce, both of Decatur, were married Saturday, May 17, 2003, at Decatur United Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy Owen officiating.
Parents of the couple are June Burr of Gulfport, and Homer and Laree Pierce of Lawrence.
Grandparents of the couple are Verla Barrett of Decatur and the late N.G. Barrett.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Jack and Frances Pierce of Decatur and the late Alva and Magadine Vaughan of Philadelphia.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Emily Winstead, vocalist; and Gladys Turner, organist.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Adam Reid. She wore a formal gown of white Italian satin with a fitted Basque bodice featuring a Queen Ann neckline and fitted sleeves that featured seed pearls and iridescent sequins.
The open back was adorned with pearls and her waist-length veil of silk illusion was anchored by a headpiece of seed pearls.
Matron of honor was Tara Upton of Decatur. Other attendants were P.J. Burr of Hattiesburg and Lauren Barrett of Decatur.
Skyla Dearing of Union was flower girl.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man.
Groomsmen and ushers were Terry Dearing of Union, Scott Bounds of Philadelphia, Terry Underwood and Kyle Barrett, both of Decatur, and Barrett Hamil of Brandon.
Zachary Upton of Decatur was ring bearer.
Rice bag attendants were Zachary Upton, Cali Underwood and Trest Underwood.
Program attendants were Cali and Trest Underwood.
A reception was held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony.
Assisting at the reception were Joe Barrett, Kathy Hamil, June Burr, Jerry Cater, Allison Barrett, Rhonda Harris, Janet Thomas, Carrie Underwood, Charlotte Dearing and Emily Jordan.
After a honeymoon in Pensacola, Fla., the couple resides in Decatur.
