Fortenberry, Burke

Larry and Janice Fortenberry of McComb, formerly of Meridian, announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsay Leigh, to Gerald Scott "Guy" Burke III, son of Gerald Scott Burke Jr. and Marie Burke of Brookhaven.
The wedding will be Saturday, July 26, 2003, at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church of McComb.
Miss Fortenberry is the granddaughter of Lenore Harvey of McComb and the late Kenneth Harvey, and Nole and Emma Gene Fortenberry of Tylertown.
The bride-elect attended Lamar High School until 1995 and graduated with honors from Parklane Academy in McComb in 1999. She graduating cum laude in May from Mississippi College with a bachelor's degree in nursing.
While at MC, she was a member of Swannanoa Social Tribe, Alpha Lambda Delta Freshman Honor Society, Beta Beta Beta Honorary Biological Society, the Student Nurses' Association and the Baptist Nursing Fellowship. She was inducted in May into Sigma Theta Tau, a professional nursing honor society.
Miss Fortenberry is a pediatric nurse at Tulane University Hospital and Clinics in New Orleans.
Grandparents of the bridegroom-elect are Gerald and Etta Burke of Brookhaven, and Bessie Kyzar of Ruth and the late Jim Ray Kyzar.
Mr. Burke is a 1998 honor graduate of Enterprise Attendance Center in Brookhaven and received an associate's degree from Copiah-Lincoln Community College in 2000.
In May 2002, Mr. Burke received his bachelor's degree in Christian studies from Mississippi College. While at MC, he worked as recreational coordinator at the Baptist Children's Village in Clinton and was associate youth pastor at Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton. He is currently attending New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary pursuing a master's of divinity degree in biblical studies.
Mr. Burke also is the interim pastor of New Providence Baptist Church in Hazlehurst.
A reception will be held in the family life center of the church following the ceremony. Family and friends are invited to attend.
