Skelton heads to All-Star battle

Tyler Skelton was a part of West Lauderdale's Class 1A-2A-3A state runner-up finishes in soccer both of the last two years.
He'll also be part of the Baptist Rehab Services All-Star Soccer Games today at Raymond.
Both games will be played at Joe Renfroe Stadium on the Hinds Community College campus. The girls' game is set for 5 p.m. with the boys' matchup slated for 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 general admission and are good for both games.
Skelton is the only area player selected to either the boys' or girls' all-star contests this year. He will play on the South team. Players reported to the HCC campus on Thursday.
West Lauderdale finished 19-5-1 this season, losing 4-1 to Madison St. Joseph in the championship game. The Knights also fell 5-3 to St. Joe in the 2002 championship contest.
Also on the South boys' roster are Jason Steele, Michael Brown, Brandon Baas, Greg Carroll, Domenick DiPaolo, James Dixon, Matt Fulton, Joseph Ingram, Kevin Kerno, Austin Lovett, Hunter Sumerall, Joe Theobald, Chris St. John, Todd Farrar, and Joe Macias. South coaches are Jesse Lang of Oak Grove and Jeff Long of Clinton.
North boys are Houston Lee, Parker Ingle, Brian Baer, Trevor Gore, Brandon Kirksey, Joseph McGlawn, Kyle Moore, Joshua Oller, Justin Roberts, Zachary Tatum, John Mark Tyler, Micah Usry, Walker Williams, and Louis Jones. Coaches for the North are Brad Biard of Pearl and Jim McCay of Oxford.
On the South girls' roster are Beverly Hatten, Sandra Magee, Julie Reboul, Joanna Stubbs, Kait Sukiennik, Kellie Bishop, Mary Bobo, Summer Brunner, Katy Evans, Lindsey Gallant, Jennifer Ghere, Kara Harshbarger, Brandi Head, Sydney Krhut, Alisha Lawrence, and Brittany Wright. South coaches are Sara Evans of Ocean Springs and Leslie Salter of Gautier.
North girls are Amy Ashworth, Amy Gaines, Jordan Hailey, Stephanie Little, Jessica Love, Mary Robinson, Kimberly Corbett, Karen Denney, Jenny Farris, Heidi Frazier, Lindsey Gilbert, Julianne Hamilton, Elizabeth Morrison, Meri Storm, and Lindsey Britton. North coaches are Roger Grantham of Florence and Lee Johnson of Pearl.
The schools of the players were not provided on the Mississippi Association of Coaches roster.
