Boy Scouts to hold Benefit Tourney

The 15th annual Rush Boy Scouts Benefit Golf Tournament will be held May 31 and June 1 at Briarwood Country Club.
Entry fees are $160 per team. Tournament Co-Chairman Benji Brown said the entry fee is down from last year.
Brown said this year's tournament will change from a fourball format to a scramble. There will be three flight divisions this year, Father and Son, 55 and older, and all others that do not fit other categories.
Noel Evans, Boy Scouts Director for six counties that includes 6,000 youth and advisors, said this tournament helps support the Boy Scouts.
Prizes will be awarded from the golf shop, and according to Evans, about $9,000 in prizes will be given away. First place teams will receive $400, second place $300, third place $150, fourth place $100, and fifth place $50.
Evans said that during the week of the tournament, teams will have the opportunity to play a practice round.
