It's a bird, it's a plane no, actually it's a blimp bearing the Pearl River Resort name.
The giant flying machine will be humming along to Southeastern cities in the coming months to promote the resort as a family destination, said Dave Fron, one of the resort's public relations representatives.
Fron said Thursday the blimp has made its way from a hangar in North Carolina to Montgomery, Ala. He said plans call for the blimp to be over Meridian sometime later today, weather permitting.
Fron said the blimp will then head to the resort and land in Philadelphia. He said plans call for the blimp to hover over the Philadelphia area this weekend, followed by a trip to Jackson on Monday and Atlanta later in the week.
The Pearl River Resort is a development of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. The resort, located west of Philadelphia, includes two casinos, two hotels, a golf club and a water theme park.
