Today, the 130th day of school, St. Patrick will celebrate 130 years of Catholic education in Meridian and school administrators have planned a day of events for students and alumni.
The day will begin at 8:15 a.m. with a ceremony outside that includes prayer, songs and speeches by alumni.
Bordelon said the students will be dressed in costumes that represent a decade between 1870 and 2003. At 1:30 p.m., students will compete in a costume contest.
Also included in the celebration will be games, displays picturing the history of the school and historical items such as newspaper articles and old yearbooks.
Charter club members also will participate by donating "130 of something," Bordelon said. Members can donate money or any other items that the school can use.
The festivities are open to the public and will end at 2:30 p.m. For more information call St. Patrick School at 482-6044.
