NEWTON Services for Bill Strait will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Pine Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Clifton Thornton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Strait, 75, of Newton, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at his home. He was a member of Pine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Strait of Newton; two daughters, Marcia Stout of Dallas; and Lachelle Sullivan of Newton; five sons, Russell and Keith Strait, both of Dallas; David Strait of San Diego; Ronald Strait of Newton; and Richard Strait of Bowling Green, Ky.; three sisters, Jackie Rush of Dallas; Mary Jane Deweese of Noxapater; and Sherry Boncali; four brothers, W.F. Strait of Philadelphia; Dillard Strait of Jacksonville, Texas; Clinton Strait of Lawrence; and Bobby Guy Strait of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher and Delia Weeks Strait; and three brothers, James, L.C. and Carl Strait.
There will be a family meal following the services at the church.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Alice Forbes Parker will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Kevin Jones officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Parker, 83, of Meridian, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of State Boulevard Baptist Church, the Azalea Garden Club and the Truth Seekers Sunday School class.
Survivors include her husband, William M. Parker of Meridian; a son, William Forbes Parker of Topica, Kansas; a sister, Douglas P. Eaves of Louisville; grandchildren, Alison Parker Knowles of Grain Valley, Mo.; and Susan Parker of Blue Springs, Mo.; great-grandson, Billy Knowles of Grain Valley; and two daughters-in-law, Norma Parker of Blue Springs; and Juanita Parker of Topica.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John S. Forbes and Sarah Taylor Forbes.
Pallbearers will be Dan Hutchinson, Gene Anderson, Owen Jones, Fred Hattaway, Tommy Spiers and Bud Massey. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Fisherman's Sunday School class.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
