Services for Daniel Johnson will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Zachary Operton officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Johnson, 43, of Houston, Texas, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, in Houston. He was employed in the communication industry. He was born in Meridian to Thelma Louise Matthews Johnson and Leory Johnson Sr.
He received his early education in the Meridian Public Schools where he earned his diploma. Daniel joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He later attended Electronic Engineering Technology Institute where he received an Associate of Arts degree.
He accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as a youngster at Pleasant Hill Church in Yantley, Ala. and was nurtured by his parents in a great love of the Lord.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis, sons, Shannon Johnson of Meridian; Torrence Johnson of Sweetwater, Texas; his parents, Thelma Louis and Leroy Johnson Sr. of Meridian; a sister, Rosetta Robertson and her husband, Charles, of Meridian; three brothers, Robert Johnson and his wife, Mildred, Lamar Johnson and his wife, Cassandra, and Leroy Johnson Jr. and his wife, Betty, all of Meridian; nieces, Cassandra Dean, Cynthia Washington, Opal Miller, Michele Johnson, and Angela Johnson; nephews, Charles E. Robertson II, Robert Wayne Johnson, Clifton Lamar Johnson, Michael Johnson, Kevin Johnson and Mitchell Lamar Johnson, and several great-uncles, great-aunts, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be Friday 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
ROSIE LEE KENNEDY
Services for Rosie Lee Kennedy will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Little Hope Baptist Church in Toomsuba with the Rev. Lamar Smith officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Toomsuba with Latimer Metropolitan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Kennedy, 96, of Toomsuba, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, in Toomsuba.
Survivors include her daughters, Bennie Lee Granger, Mary Etta Jenkins, both of Meridian, Rosetta Wallace of Toomsuba and Bernice Kennedy of Hartford, Conn.; sons, Frankie Kennedy of Meridian, Albert Kennedy Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va., and James Kennedy of Toomsuba; a sister, Hannah Scott Thomas of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and a brother, Whitehead Dunnigan of Toomsuba; 42 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

CLEBURNE, Texas Graveside services with military honors for Joe Pitchford "Papa Joe" Carson will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Conehatta Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Milton T. Whatley officiating. Martin's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Carson, 82, of Cleburne, died on August 17, 2002, in Cleburne. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a master chef.
Survivors include daughter Nancy Jorane Harris; brothers, Charles Carson of Conehatta, Patrick Carson of Myrtle Creek, Ore.; sisters, Bettye Blackburn Hatcher of Cleburne and Peggy Lawrence of Merritt Island, Fla.; and three grandchildren and several nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Opal Euteal Haralson; brothers, Roger and Ben; and an infant sister, Annie Frances.
WILLIE L. GRADY

DEKALB Services for Willie L. Grady will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Preston with the Rev. John Clark officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in DeKalb. E. E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Grady, 52, of Preston, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia.
Survivors include her parents, Alberta Needham of Preston and Otis Hampton of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four brothers, Earl Needham, Waydell Needham and his wife, Evon, all of Chicago, Earnest Grady of Los Angeles, and Otis Hampton Jr. of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a sister Jewel Waydell of Brooklyn, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Visitation will be Friday 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Services for Everett Scott Jr. will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at First United Baptist Church in Stonewall with the Rev. Willie Hood officiating. Burial will be in East Cemetery in Enterprise. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Scott, 96, of Stonewall, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, in his home.
Survivors include his brother, William E. Scott of Stonewall, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Visitation will be Saturday 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
