Rams blank Sylva Bay

Kemper Academy used a superior defensive effort to take a 13-0 division win over visiting Sylva Bay Academy on Friday night.
The win pushed the Rams to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in league play. Kemper has not allowed a defensive touchdown in the last 18 quarters.
Kemper's first score came in the first quarter when the Rams blocked a punt and Allen Robertson fell on it in the end zone for a touchdown.
The Rams sealed the game in the fourth quarter on a 5-yard run by Tim Kirkland, who finished the night with 78 rushing yards on nine carries.
Kemper visits Heidelberg Academy on Friday night.
Carthage 22
Southeast Lauderdale 6
The rain got the best of Southeast Lauderdale at home Friday night against visiting Carthage. The Tigers suffered a blocked punt and five turnovers in the 22-6 loss.
The game was the Region 5-3A opener for both teams. The loss was Southeast's third straight to fall to 1-3 on the year. The win was Carthage's first to move to 1-3.
Carthage scored 14 points in the second quarter off two touchdowns including a 75-yard run. The game was delayed for 30 minutes because of the heavy thunderstorms in the area.
In the third quarter, Carthage blocked a Southeast punt setting up a four-yard touchdown run. The two-point conversion made it 22-0 with eight minutes left in the quarter.
Southeast got on the board with under two minutes to play when Drew Harper threw a 35-yard TD pass to Rod Baskin. The two point try failed.
Southeast travels to Heidelberg next week.
Wayne Academy 34
Newton Academy 17
Patton Stanley scored three touchdowns to lead Wayne Academy past Newton 34-17 on Friday night in MPSA District 2-A action.
Stanley scored on runs of 4 and 14 yards to help erase a 3-0 NCA lead which came off a 28-yard field goal. He also added both PAT kicks to make it 14-3.
Brandon McDonald scored on a 2-yard run in the second quarter. Stanley's kick made it 21-3 for the Jaguars.
Newton came back with Lee Blackburn scoring on a 2-yard run. The kick made it 21-10 at the half.
Stanley came back with a 6-yard run in the third quarter to put Wayne up 28-10 after the PAT kick.
Alex Brewer scored the final Wayne touchdown on a 2-yard run. The kick failed leaving the score at 34-10.
Blackburn finished the scoring returning the ensuing kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. The PAT kick accounted for the 34-17 final.
Patton finished with 208 yards rushing off 19 carries.
Heidelberg 38
West Lauderdale 7
Heidelberg whipped visiting West Lauderdale 38-7 in the Region 5-3A opener for both teams on a wet Friday night in Heidelberg.
The win moves the Oilers to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in region play. West Lauderdale falls to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the region.

Enterprise 38

Enterprise scored 31 points in the second quarter in route to a 38-0 rout of visiting Raleigh on Friday night.
Enterprise stays unbeaten on the year at 4-0. Raleigh falls to 0-4.
Kelly Jimmerson rushed for 116 yards and scored two touchdowns on runs of 8 and 2 yards.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring when Adam Simpson hit Patrick McLaughlin on a 20-yard TD pass. Michael Swancey booted the PAT kick.
Swancey started the second quarter onslaught by nailing a 50-yard field to make it 10-0.
Jimmerson then scored his touchdowns, the first coming on the 8-yard run. Swancey had both kicks to make it 24-0.
Enterprise then got a 43-yard TD run from Davion Dixon. Swancey's kick made it 31-7. The final Bulldog score came on a two-yard run by Zeb Swain. Swancey added his fifth PAT kick.
Enterprise finished with 246 yards in total offense and had 215 rushing.
Louisville 30
Aberdeen 0
The visiting Wildcats of Louisville High School scored on the first play of the game and rolled to the 30-point win.
Chris Perry took the opening kickoff and raced 93 yards for the touchdown. Anthony Stanford's kick made it 7-0.
Brandon Dotson then scored on runs of 13 and 1 yards as LHS built a 20-0 lead. Derrell Ashford scored on a 44-yard run and Stanford kicked a 30-yard field goal to wrap up the Louisville scoring.
Ashford led the 2-2 Wildcats with 120 yards on 15 carries.
Heidelberg Academy 23
Winston 0
Heidelberg dominated the game from the beginning on the way to the convincing division win.
The Rebels rushed for 247 yards, while holding the Patriots to just 87 yards of total offense.
Brooks Lewis scored on two 1-yard runs in the first half, while Mason Key kicked a 27 yard field goal for the Rebels and Brodie Bustin scored on an 8-yard run in the third quarter.
Brent Welch rushed for 155 yards on 13 carries, while Lenny Boatner rushed for 29 yards on five carries.
Heidelberg picked up 14 first downs, while WA had four.
Wayne County 34,
Pascagoula 14
The No. 1 ranked Wayne County High School War Eagles rolled to a 34-14 road win over Pascagoula on Friday night.
Akeen Lofton broke loose for a 73-yard touchdown run to give the visiting War Eagles the early lead. Breck Mills kicked the extra point.
Michael McLaughlin scored on a 6-yard run, while Neal bootend the point after and then Lofton hit J.J. Taylor with a 28-yard scoring pass. The kick made it 21-0.
Pascagoula then got on the scoreboard when Michael Shepherd scored on a 5-yard run and Zach Schnoor added the point after.
Taylor countered with scoring runs of 65 and 12 yards, before Pascgoula closed out the scoring on 13-yard scoring play.
Lofton rushed for 151 yards on seven plays and hit on 6-of-8 passes for 84 yards. Taylor rushed for 177 yards on nine carries for the War Eagles, who totale 357 total rushing yards.
