Northeast hammers visitors

Northeast Lauderdale won its eight straight game in slamming South Jones 17-0 in five innings on Tuesday evening here at Northeast Park.
The win lifts the Lady Trojans to 8-1 on the season and 2-0 inside Division 5-4A. Northeast head coach Chris Harper said his team is playing well.
Raleigh Odom, the 2001 Star Player of the Year, had a big game for Northeast. Odom went 4-for-4 scoring three runs and drove in four. Two of her four hits went for extra bases including a double and a triple.
Lauren Webb also went 4-for-4 and scored four runs. She also knocked in two runs.
Jana Olczak was third Northeast player to go 4-for-4 in the game. She also had two RBI.
Capri Norris went 3-for-3 and Grace Ann Watkins had two hits and two RBIs.

Neshoba Central 15
Newton High 0
The Lady Rockets of Neshoba Central moved their record to 6-3 on the year with a convincing 15-0 road victory over Newton High School in slow-pitch softball action on Tuesday.
Lindsey Smith had a big game for Neshoba Central, picking up the win on the mound and going 4-for-4 at the plate with a triple.
Amber Dean was 3-for-3 for the Lady Rockets, while Dacie Brantley added a single and a double. Sarah Williamson and Kadye Chandler had two hits each for NCHS.
The Lady Rockets host Newton County High School on Thursday night.

Leake Academy 10
Carroll 0
Anna Lisa Posey pitched a complete game one-hit shutout to lead Leake past Carroll Academy.
Ashton Agent and Sarah James led the winners with three hits each, while Posey added two. Leake is now 6-2 on the year and visits Benton Academy on Tuesday.
