    RUSSELL LOWELL JOHNSON SR.
    DE KALB Services for Russell L. Johnson Sr. will be Monday at noon at St. Mark United Methodist Church in DeKalb with the Rev. Eddie Lee Jones officiating. Burial will be in Chamberlain Cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Johnson, 87, died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at Guardian Angel Hospice in Meridian. He was a veteran of World War II.
    Survivors include his wife, Frances Watkins Johnson of DeKalb; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Albert Miller of Minneapolis and Daphne and Andy Terrell of Philadelphia, Pa., a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Jean Johnson of Rowlett, Texas; two sisters, Dollye Lindsey of Ocean Springs and Beatrice Gonzales of New Orleans; four brothers, Myatt Johnson of Hudson, Ohio, W.G. Johnson and his wife, Callie, of Preston, Theodis Johnson and his wife, Pamela and Billy Ray Johnson and his wife Clelia, all of Chicago; and six grandchildren, Misha Miller High, Micah Miller, Rachel Johnson, Courtenay Terrell, Russell Johnson III and Gabrielle Terrell.
    He was preceded in death by eight siblings.
    LORAINE D. VANDEVENDER

    PHILADELPHIA Services for Loraine D. VanDevender will be today at 2 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church in Kemper County with the Rev. Jerry Jones officiating. Burial will be in Chamberlain Cemetery in Kemper County with McClain-Hays Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. VanDevender, 81, of Preston, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at Heartfelt Hospice in Meridian. She was a homemaker.
    Survivors include a son, Gerald VanDevender of Atlanta, Texas; a sister, Helen Skipper of Preston; a brother, Bill Duncan, also of Preston; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
    ODESSA MILLING DEAN
    Retired inspector
    FOREST Services for Odessa Milling Dean will be today at 2 p.m. at Forest Presbyterian Church in Forest with the Revs. Jamie Germany, Milton Whatley and Dr. Gordon Sansing officiating. Burial will be in Erin Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Union with Ott &Lee Funeral Home in Forest in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Dean, 93, died Friday, July 26, 2002, at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest. She was a retired inspector with the state of Mississippi.
    Survivors include a sister, Ozella Weems of Forest and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Dean; two brothers, Andrew Milling and Roy Milling; and four sisters, Ola Davidson, Vera Milling, Betty Anderson and Maude Carrier.
    Memorials may be made to Forest Presbyterian Church, 337 East First St., Forest, Ms. 39074.
    Visitation is from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
    JAMES POOLE
    Retired truck driver
    NEWTON  Services for James "Shorty" Poole will be today at 2 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel in Newton with the Rev. Jeff Goss officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Cemetery in Lawrence.
    Mr. Poole, 72, of Decatur, died Friday, July 26, 2002, at Newton Regional Medical Center. He was a Baptist and a retired truck driver.
    Survivors include two brothers, Freeman Poole and wife Louise of Lawrence; Olin Poole of Benton, La.; four sisters, Merle Brown and Frank of Natchez, Jeannie Maltby and husband Donald of Alexandria, La., Janie Doss and husband Carmie of Newton, Dot Poole of Lawrence; a special friend, Shirley Byrd; and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Poole and Baby Poole; a sister, Margie Tolley; and his parents, Ollie and Bessie Poole.
    Memorials may be made to Heartfelt Hospice.
    Pallbearers will be Carmie Doss, William Poole, Kenneth Poole, Charlie Luke, Lucas Poole and Marvin.
    VIRGINIA STUART
    Retired sewing machine operator
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Virginia Stuart will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at the chapel of McClain-Hays Funeral Service. Burial will be Salem Cemetery in Neshoba County.
    Mrs. Stewart, 75, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at her sister's home in Neshoba County. Mrs. Stewart was a retired sewing machine operator.
    Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Dixon of Philadelphia and Tracy Nightingale of Hattiesburg; a son, Eddie Pickle of Byram; two sisters, Janice Dunn of Philadelphia and Gwyn Matthews of Jackson; a brother, Royce Pickle of Philadelphia; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
    JOHN G.D. MARCANGELI
    Truck driver
    PHILADELPHIA Services for John G.D. Marcangeli will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of McClain-Hays Funeral Service with the Rev. Kenan Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Cooks Chapel Cemetery in Neshoba County.
    Mr. Marcangeli, 52, of Philadelphia, died Friday, July 26, 2002, at Meridian Heart Services. He was a truck driver.
    Survivors include his wife, Laura Marcangeli of Philadelphia; two sons, Woodrow Camillo Marcangeli of Carthage and John Keith Marcangeli of Morton; his mother, Marguerita Marcangeli of Philadelphia; two sisters, Mary L. Ross of Hattiesburg and Elizabeth Goodwin of Dallas; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
    Visitation is from 5 p.m-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
    VELMA SPEARS
    Homemaker
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Velma Spears will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the chapel of McClain-Hays Funeral Service with Dr. Mike Smith and the Rev. Mike Skinner officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia.
    Mrs. Spears, 94, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at her home. She was a homemaker.
    Survivors include two daughters, Wannee Kent of Vicksburg and Mollie Stokes of Philadelphia; two sons, Paul Spears and Matthew Spears, both of Philadelphia; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.
    Visitation is from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
    FANNIE MAE MCCALLEBB
    Services were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Fannie Mae McCallebb, who died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
    KENNETH L. LAVENDER
    Services were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Kenneth L. Lavender, 47, who died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at his home.
