    He was an avid reader and had an appreciation of good literature. Cleo believed that education was a top priority. All of his children share a deep appreciation for education and the arts.

    When asked to describe Cleo in his younger days, his lifelong friend, Max Connett said, "He was just as he is today; always a gentleman and as honest as the day is long."
    Survivors include his wife, Lula Mae of Kosciusko; five children, Kaye McCrory of Greenwood, Diane Grey of Kosciusko, Paula Kerr of Newton, Bill Boutwell of Yazoo City and Connett Boutwell of Kosciusko; eight grandchildren, Shannon McCrory, Shaye Rawson, Leesa Grey, Jay Kerr, Anna Cain, Billy Boutwell, Stephen Boutwell and Sarah Smith; seven great-grandchildren, Tristan Rawson, Brett McCrory, Michael Rawson, Michael-Ann McCrory, Peyton Cain, Olivia Cain and Delaney McKinnon; two brothers, Frank Woodruff Boutwell of Gulf Shores, Ala., and John Wofford Boutwell Jr. of Enterprise; and a sister, Addie Ruth Hassell of LaCombe, La.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Boutwell, who died in World War II; and his parents, John Wofford Boutwell Sr. and Katherine Comelia Sinclair Boutwell.
    His many friends and relatives celebrate his life and mourn his passing also.
    Pallbearers will be Sharon McCrory, Jay Kerr, Billy Boutwell, Stephen Boutwell, Tom Rawson and Jason Cain.
    Honorary pallbearers will be members of Kosciusko First United Methodist Church Men's Bible Class.
    The family requests memorials be made to Kosciusko First United Methodist Church Passion Play, P.O. Box 100, Kosciusko, MS 39090.
    Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    REV. RANDOLPH HENDERSON HOPKINS
    Services for the Rev. Randolph Henderson Hopkins will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church of Kewanee with the Rev. Jimmy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Rev. Hopkins, 50, of Ridgeland, died Monday, March 11, 2002, at the University Medical Center in Jackson.
    He was born Sept. 17, 1951. He graduated from Meridian High School in 1969, Meridian Community College in 1970, Livingston University in 1973 and Bethany Theological Seminary in May 2000.
    Mr. Hopkins had a professional baseball career that spanned 10 years beginning in the spring of 1973. He was the pastor of Springhill Missionary Baptist Church in Kewanee for 15 years as of March 2002. He was a commercial insurance underwriter for USF&G Insurance Company now known as The St. Paul Insurance Company for 15 years.
    Survivors include his wife, Linda Diane Brown Hopkins of Ridgeland; children, Randy Del-Juan Hopkins of Ruston, La., Stephen Leonard Hopkins and Stephanie Lynn Hopkins of Ridgeland; grandchildren, Andrew Jalen Hopkins of Ridgeland and Hezekiah Del-Juan Hopkins of Rushton; his mother, Annie Lee Hopkins of Meridian; sisters, Barbara Griffin, Frances Washington and her husband, the Rev. Williams, all of Meridian, Annie Ruth Walton and her husband, Monroe Walton Sr., of Southaven, Loreace Long and her husband, Carl, of Denton, Texas, and Carrie Trussell and her husband Lamar of Lake Dallas, Texas; brothers, Alvin Hopkins of Oakland, Calif., Lewis Hopkins Jr. and his wife, Orglenda, of Plano, Texas, and John Hopkins and his wife, Rosie, of Pittsburg, Calif.; honorary aunts, Betsy Hopkins, Lillian Hopkins and Mrs. Darden; honorary uncles, Charlie Harvey and Joe Harvey.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Hopkins Sr.
    Visitation will be today 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. at Lakeover Funeral Home in Jackson and one hour prior to the services at the church.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Randolph Hopkins Fund at the Community Bank for Cancer Research.
    AMOS NAYLOR
    Retired construction worker
    Services for Amos Naylor will be held Saturday at noon at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Lauderdale with the Rev. Obediah Clemons officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Naylor, 80, of Meridian, died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at Riley Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II.
    Survivors include his wife, Eddie Jean Naylor of Lauderdale; six daughters, Mary Trussell and her husband, Jimmy, Ora Hall and her husband, Johnny, Vera Clemons and her husband, the Rev. Obediah, Dollie Ball and her husband, George, Ethel Mosley and Susie Naylor, all of Meridian; seven sons, Johnny Mosley and his wife, Sue Ann, Henry Mosley, Amos Mosley, Richard Naylor and Ronnie Naylor, all of Lauderdale, Ernest Daniels of Meridian and Johnny B. Naylor of Fort Dodge, Iowa; a sister, Bessie Darden of Porterville; a brother, Willie C. Naylor of Hartford, Conn.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be Friday 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
    HAROLD W. MORGAN
    Machine operator
    Services for Harold W. Morgan will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Alpha and Omega Holiness Church with the Rev. Billy Baylor officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery in Russell with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Morgan, 40, of Toomsuba, died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at the University Medical Center in Jackson. He was employed by Lauderdale County as a machine operator.
    Survivors include his fiance, Barbara Lee of Toomsuba; five sons, Derrick Mosley and Cedric Sillman, both of Lauderdale, Delbryant Lee, Deonte Morgan and Seddric Morgan, all of Toomsuba; two daughters, Brenda Sillman of Lauderdale and Kristian Lee of Toomsuba; four brothers, Bennie Lee of St. Petersburg, Fla., George Morgan and his wife, Mary, Arthur Morgan and James Morgan and his wife, Marie, all of Toomsuba; three sisters, Fannie Morgan, Theresa Morgan and Renee Morgan, all of Toomsuba; and two grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his father, George Morgan; and a brother, MacArthur Morgan.
    Visitation will be Friday 7 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    REV. LESTER LONNIE GARDNER
    Baptist pastor for 48 years
    LAUREL Services for the Rev. Lester Lonnie Gardner were held Tuesday at Antioch Baptist Church in Louin with the Revs. Bill Riley, Ed Holliman and Keith Boggan officiating. Burial was in Union Seminary Baptist Church Cemetery in Jasper County with Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Rev. Gardner, 75, of Laurel, died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. He was the minister of Antioch Baptist Church and served as a pastor in south Mississippi for 48 years.
    Survivors include his wife, Grace Smith Gardner; three daughters, Deborah Carr and her husband, David, of Newton, Jane Gardner Gatlin of Birmingham, Ala., and Julia Gardner White of Laurel; six grandchildren, Anthony and Nathan Gatlin, Jessica, Betsy and Nicholas Carr and Emilee White; a great-grandchild, Albert Gatlin; a brother, Granvel Gardner of Crawford; five sisters, Pauline Passon of Cleveland, Ala., Imogene Craven of Hattiesburg, Eleanor Myrick of Moss, Ernestine Panos and Bethany Shirley, both of Houston, Texas.
    Pallbearers were the deacons of the church. Honorary pallbearers were Sammy Windham, Hilton "Mutt" Lee and Willard Bishop.
    The family requests memorials be made to Gideon's International of Laurel.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Rosie B. Chaney, 79, of Meridian who died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
