Trustmark holds Relay fund-raiser
Trustmark National Bank's Relay for Life team will hold a hamburger plate cookout on Thursday to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Plates include a burger, chips, dessert and coke for $5. They will be available at the bank's downtown branch at 700 23rd Ave. For delivery of five or more plates, call Neil Henry at 693-9750.
Make-A-Wish holds meeting
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Mississippi will have its monthly Meridian Volunteer Luncheon Thursday at Rush Medical Group, 1800 12th St. The meeting will begin at 11:45 a.m. on the sixth floor. C-Span School Bus to visit Meridian
The award-winning C-Span School Bus, a 45-foot television production studio and demonstration center, continues its trek around the country. The bus will visit Meridian's downtown Post Office and Bonita Lakes Mall on Thursday. Tours and demonstrations are open to the public. The visit is sponsored by Comcast Cable.
United Way annual meeting Thursday
The 2002 United Way Annual Meeting will be held Thursday, at 6 p.m., in the Mississippi State University-Meridian Campus auditorium. The meeting will feature an awards presentation, a review of the annual report and dinner. Tickets are $12.50 or $100 for a table of eight. Tickets will be available at the door, or you can reserve your seats by calling 693-2732.
Jackson to host Exotic Bird Fair
The 8th Semi-Annual Central Mississippi Exotic Bird Fair and Supply Sale is returning to Jackson and will feature canaries, finches, macaws and African Greys. The fair will be open to the public Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Mississippi State Fairgrounds. Admission is $3. Meridian Civitan Club presents concert
The Meridian Civitan Club will present Terry Joe Terrill, Angelina McKeithen and Tony Gore and Majesty live in concert on March 23, at 7 p.m., at the Temple Theater. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. They are available at the Bible Book Store and Fishes &Loaves. All proceeds go to local charities.
Edward L. Hubbard to speak at meeting
Ret. Air Force Col. Edward L. Hubbard will be the featured speaker March 20 at a financial services seminar hosted by Edward Jones Investments. Hubbard, a published author and motivational speaker will convey his message "the power of human potentials boundless."
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the East Mississippi Electric Power Association auditorium. The seminar is open to the public.

Benefit trail ride and dance March 23
A benefit trail ride and dance will be held March 23 at the Union Riding Club Arena. Proceeds will go to restore the Confederate Soldier Monument at the Neshoba County Courthouse. Tickets are $10. Enterprise VFD holds barbecue
The Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Service will have a chicken barbecue beginning at 11 a.m. on March 23. Plates are $5. Proceeds benefit the department.
Johnathan's Day set for March 23
A Family Fun Day to benefit Johnathan Andrew Mars will be held March 23, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., at the old Bonita Wal-Mart parking lot. A softball tournament will be held the same day at First Assembly of God. Four-year-old Johnathan Mars is once again receiving chemotherapy. A prayer vigil will take place at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds will go to Johnathan's Cancer Fund.

Silverleaf Manor hosting Spring Fling
Silverleaf Manor will host a front Porch Spring Fling March 28 at 2 p.m. Entertainment and hot dogs will be provided. In the event of rain, the fun will be held indoors. It is open to the public.
Vimville VFD holding fund-raiser
The Vimville Volunteer Fire Department is holding its annual fund-raiser. Department volunteers will be out in the fire district handing out flyers about how to make donations through your East Mississippi Electric Power Association and Long Creek Water Association bills. Donations will go to training and equipment at the fire department.
