Haguewood, Sykes

Joni Sykes and Christopher Haguewood, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Merrehope with the Rev. Roy Dabbs officiating.
Parents of the couple are Donald Dykes of Quitman, Sybil and Scott Snowden of Meridian, and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Haguewood of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are Nellie Sykes and the late Tommy "TR" Sykes, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Cleo Dearman and the late Mary Alice Dearman.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Leo Haguewood, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Goldman and the late Russell Roberts.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Mary Simmons, pianist; and Jessica Dodson, soloist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore an ivory Duchess satin princess-line gown accented with rum pink satin rosebuds. The off-the-shoulder neckline was detailed with seed pearls and corded lace, and her chapel-length train was edged in embroidered lace.
Maid of honor was Shelby Carr of Causeyville. Other attendants were Deanna Haguewood and Casey Pope, both of Meridian, Pamela Taylor of Whynot and Brandi Ivy of Quitman.
Roger Haguewood of Meridian served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Jerrod Haguewood, Andy Maxwell, Chad Riley and Trinity Lewis, all of Meridian.
A reception was held at Merrehope following the ceremony. Assisting were Brandy Logan, Jessica Kimbrell, Trisha Null, Lauren Harper, Kathryn Montgomery, Stephanie Hollingsworth, Vickie Henry, Cara Waite, Jann Felks and Rayenell Johnston.
After a honeymoon in Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple resides in Meridian.
