25th anniversary
Mike and Susan Beesley will celebrate their 25th anniversary on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001. They have three children, Michael Jr., Katy and Hunter. Mrs. Beesley is the former Susan G. Stephens of Meridian.
30th anniversary
Don and Linda Queen of Quitman recently celebrated their 30th anniversary by renewing their wedding vows. The ceremony was held in the Chapel of Love in Gatlinburg, Tenn. The Queens were married Oct. 30, 1971, in Portsmouth, Ohio. The couple has three children, Christine Fleming and her husband, Jarod, Donnie Queen and his wife, Chastidy, and Lindsey Queen; and one granddaughter, Kira Fleming.
50th anniversary
Dr. and Mrs. Richard C. Ethridge will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception in the Gold Room at East Central Community College in Decatur. The event will be Sunday, Dec. 2, from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Mrs. Ethridge is the former Virginia Marble of Edinburg and Dr. Ethridge is a former Meridianite. The couple were married by the Rev. A.M. Schultz, the pastor of Meridian's Highland Methodist Church, on Dec. 1, 1951. Their daughters, Marietta Curry of Jackson, Janet Ethridge of Mobile, Ala., and Katherine Rawson of Meridian along with their grandchildren will host the event. Family and friends are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts.
