    OBITUARIES FOR SUNDAY, NOV. 18, 2001

    MINNIE JOSEPHINE
    MOULDS MUNDY
    QUITMAN Services for Minnie Josephine Moulds Mundy will be held today at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church in Rose Hill, with the Rev. Norman Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Wright's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Mundy, 79, of Florence, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, in her home.
    Survivors include a son, Danny Moulds, of Rose Hill; a daughter, Earl Dean Larche of Florence; two sisters, Ruby Weldon of Louisiana and Mary Frances Lewis of Rose Hill; five grandchildren, Dallas Earl Townsend of Magee, Len Derouen of McComb, Dana Robinson and Tina Boles, both of Rose Hill, and Joey Moulds of Enterprise; 14 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

    NEWTON Services for Helen Glenn McMullan will be held today at 2 p.m. at Clarke Venable Baptist Church with the Revs. David Rives and Gus Merritt officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. McMullan, 74, of Decatur, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was a member of Clarke Venable Baptist Church and the Gleaners Sunday School Class.
    Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Smith, a brother, Gerald Glenn, and his wife, Eva Jean, three grandchildren, Melinda Hand, Lana Kay Smith and Jay Smith, two great-grandchildren, Baleigh Hand and McKayla Hand, and a daughter-in-law, Linda McMullan, all of Decatur; a nephew, Marcus Glenn of Jackson; and a niece, Carla Glenn of Madison.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Anon McMullan; and a son, Robert Charles McMullan.
    Pallbearers will be Wallace Strickland, Bruce Carter, Johnny Baucum Jr., Paul Frink, Ralph Thomas and Chris Harris.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Doyle McMullan, Gerald Meador and Neil Knight.
    LARRY D. BURKHALTER
    Funeral director
    Graveside services for Larry D. Burkhalter will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Edsol Wells officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Burkhalter, 75, of Dalewood and Newton, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at the VA Medical Center in Jackson.
    Mr. Burkhalter was a funeral director in Meridian and Newton for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Newton United Methodist Church, American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a past member of Newton Masonic Lodge and a charter member of the Newton Lions Club. Mr. Burkhalter was a graduate of Gupton Jones Mortuary School in Nashville, Tenn., past district governor of the Mississippi Funeral Directors Association and past president of Meridian Civitan Club. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
    Survivors include his wife, Audrey K. Burkhalter of Lauderdale; a son, Jeff L. Burkhalter, a daughter-in-law, Sue M. Burkhalter, and two granddaughters, Nancy Burkhalter and Laura Beth Burkhalter, all of Natchez; two nephews, J.R. East III of Jasper, Ark., and Jason Breeden of Brandon; and two nieces, Barbara East of Jasper, and Hailey K. Breeden of Brandon.
    Visitation will be today from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

    RAYNER GILLESPIE

    Graveside services for Sarah Margaret Rayner Gillespie will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Harrison officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Gillespie, 70, of Meridian, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at Beverly HealthCare-Broadmoor.
    Mrs. Gillespie was the daughter of Hugh Semmes Rayner and Alma Phillips Rayner, proprietors of the Rayner Drug Store on Front Street in Meridian. She was a lifelong resident of Meridian and received her bachelor's degree from the University of Mississippi in Oxford where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, a life member of Meridian Junior Auxiliary and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In later years, she was active with the local animal shelter.
    Mrs. Gillespie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dr. William Meek Gillespie Jr.; three children, Alma Lynne Gillespie Krogstad of Baton Rouge, La., Dr. William Meek Gillespie III of Columbus and Phillip Semmes Gillespie of New Hope, Pa.; and four grandchildren, William Gillespie IV, Benjamin Krogstad, Sarah Krogstad and Chandler Gillespie.
    The family requests memorials be made to Central United Methodist Church or the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

    Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Hazel Godfrey of Brevard, N.C., who died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2001, in Brevard.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for George Lanier, 81, of Meridian, who died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at Riley Hospital.
    CHARLES WAGGENER
    Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Charles Waggener, 88, of Meridian, who died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at Silver Leaf Manor.
