    OBITUARIES FOR FRIDAY, NOV. 16, 2001

    DALTON PAYNE
    Factory worker with Ford Motor Co.
    DEKALB Services for Dalton "Jack" Payne will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Collinsville, with the Revs. Carey McDonald and Sherman McClain officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Payne, 54, of Little Rock, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include his wife, Rochelle Payne, and a daughter, Shannon Payne, both of Chicago; two sons, Dalton Payne and his wife, Mildred, of Chicago and Darrin Payne and his wife, Shawn, of Hammond, Ill.; his mother, Martha Montgomery, and his father, Johnny Payne, both of Chicago; five grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence Payne and his wife, Debra, of Chicago and Simm Payne and his wife, Annette, of Cincinnati; four sisters, Denise Ellison and her husband, Keith, of Aurora, Ill., Brenda Scott and her husband, Bernard, of Riverdale, Ill., Kathy Brown and her husband, Tony, of Country Club Hills, Ill., and Vicki Jackson of Blue Island, Ill.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
    Visitation will be today from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Community Chapel in Meridian.
    ROBERT E. WHITE
    Retired diesel mechanic
    Services for Robert E. White will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Ricky Peebles officiating. Burial will be in Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Mr. White, 58, of DeKalb, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of DeKalb Assembly of God Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Bonnie White, and a son, Andy White, both of DeKalb; two daughters, Bonnie Gayle Nelson of Silver Springs, Md., and Dr. Leslie A. White of New Orleans; a brother, Joe White of Meridian; and five grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Veda White.
    Pallbearers will be Shelby Goodin, Homer Swearingen, Larry Swearingen, Douglas Parker, Steven Lockey and Daniel Wade.
    The family requests memorials be made to DeKalb Assembly of God Church.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    ALMA RUTH STEELE
    Homemaker
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Alma Ruth Steele will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at John E. Stephens Chapel, with the Revs. Steve Mosley and William Steele officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
    Mrs. Steele, 69, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include nine daughters, Carolyn Cole, Juanita Moore, Ruthie Moore, Sandra Williams, Roxie Steele, and Sara Coleman, all of Philadelphia, Lisa Triplett, Stacy Steele and Kimberly Faulkner, all of Atlanta; three sons, Henry Steele of Philadelphia, Norman Steele of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Jerry Steele of Atlanta; a stepson, Curtis Steele of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, Bennie Randall of St. Louis, Edwina Murrell of Collinsville and Dorothy McGee of Philadelphia; a brother, Tommie Griffin of Chicago; seven sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; 27 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Steele Jr.
    Visitation will be Saturday from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

    QUITMAN Services for Lillie V. Barney will be held Sunday at 10 a.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Stonewall Cemetery.
    Mrs. Barney, 90, of Stonewall, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include a son, Charles Barney of Stonewall; a sister, Emma Lou Dunlap, and a brother, Victor Kendricks, both of Chattanooga, Tenn.; four grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband.
    MILLY MING HENDERSON
    Services for Milly Ming Henderson will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Blackwater Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery with
    Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Henderson, 72, of Daleville, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home.
    Visitation will be Saturday from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.

    Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home for Laura M. Beason, 87, of Philadelphia, who died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, in her home.
