Winston, Louisville take victories

Winston Academy improved their record to 9-2 Friday night with a 29-12 win over Kirk for the Academy AAA district championship.
Winston's first score came from a two yard rush from Scott Peterson. The following Jay McMillan PAT was good.
Kirk got in next off a four yard rush from Alan Cravens. The PAT was blocked.
Winston got in next from an eleven yard rush from Lenny Boatner followed by a McMillan PAT.
Winston continued the scoring with a six yard touchdown rush from Boatner followed by a two point conversion pass from Boatner to Jonathon Stevens.
Kirk got in the end zone next with a 10 yard rush from Cravens.
Winston sent Peterson in next to score off an eight yard pass from Peterson to Caleb Metts. The PAT was good.
Winston Academy had 286 rushing yards for the night led by Boatner with 163 yards on 14 carries. Winston will face Marshall Friday night at home in round one of the playoffs.
Louisville 38
Oxford 14
Louisville rumbled past Oxford 38-14 in 4A playoff action on Friday in Louisville.
Louisville built a 32-0 lead by halftime and cruised in the second half. The Wildcats improve to 7-4 overall and will meet the Kosciusko-Hernando winner next week.
Horace Glenn opened the scoring on an 11-yard run. Gade Snow then caught a 27-yard pass from Anthony Stanford to make it 12-0. Both PATs failed.
Cary Miller ran in a 32-yard touchdown run to boost the Wildcat lead to 18-0.
Louisville's other first half touchdowns came on a 13-yard run by Brandon Dotson and Miller on a two-yard run. Ben Clark made two extra point kicks.
The final Louisville touchdown came on a five-yard TD run by Stanford.
Oxford scores came on a 88-yard kickoff return by Jason Keller and a one-yard run by Turner Barnes.
