Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Dale Powell of Ward, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Christy Anne, to John Thomas Aldridge, son of Dr. and Mrs. John E. Aldridge of Brandon.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at 5 p.m. at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church.
Miss Powell is the granddaughter of Della Powell of Ward and the late Jimmie M. Powell; Lorene Chaney of Hickory and the late Cobert B. Chaney.
The bride-elect graduated magna cum laude from Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in speech pathology. She also received a master's degree in communication disorders.
Miss Powell is a speech-language pathologist employed by Speech-Language Pathology Inc.
Mr. Aldridge is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Aldridge of Jackson and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Thomas of Brandon.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Mississippi College where he received a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in English. Mr. Aldridge received a master of occupational therapy degree from Texas Woman's University.
He is an occupational therapist employed by Trinity Rehabilitation Inc., contracting with Queen City Nursing Center and MS Care Center of DeKalb.
A reception will be held at Meridian Little Theater following the ceremony.
