Gallery tour set for Thursday
The Meridian Council for the Arts will hold its annual Gallery and Artists Tour Thursday from 5 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
A trolley car will be provided for those wanting to go as a group. To get a seat, meet at Union Station at 5 p.m.
Each site on the tour will have different types of artwork on display. The tour covers the following locations:
Union Station, where works from the Student Art Competition &Exhibit will be on display;
K. Fulton Art and Frame, gallery exhibits;
Dumont Plaza, performing artists;
Cartmell Gallery, gallery exhibits;
Bonnie Busbee Art &Frame, gallery exhibits;
The Meridian Museum of Art, museum exhibits;
Art Connection, gallery exhibits; and,
The Casteel Gallery at Meridian Community College; museum exhibits.

Museum art action planned for Nov. 3
The Meridian Museum of Art's 2001 Art Auction is set for Saturday, Nov. 3, at Union Station.
The auction combines a gala dinner with a chance to bid on a selection of artwork from some of the top artists in East Mississippi and West Alabama.

Busbee exhibit opens Saturday
Bonnie Busbee, a local artist, will open an exhibit of her work at the Meridian Museum of Art this weekend.
A reception will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at the museum. The exhibit is titled : "Passages of Life."
Symphony to perform Nov. 10
Meridian Symphony Orchestra will present its second concert of the season Nov. 10.
The concert will begin at 8 p.m. at the McCain Theatre in Ivy Hall on the campus of Meridian Community College.
Dr. Claire Fox Hillard, maestro of the Orchestra, will lead a pre-concert lecture and discussion of the evening program at 7 p.m. in the Casteel Gallery. 
The program for the evening will feature the MSO's principal trumpet player, Charles Gates, playing Haydn's Trumpet Concerto. 
The Emma McCain Endowment Fund makes his appearance as the featured guest artist possible.
Other selections for the evening program include Handel's Suite from "The Water Music" and Beethoven's Symphony No 3, "The Eroica."

St. Paul's Chamber Series continues
The St. Paul's Episcopal Church's Chamber Series continues Oct. 25 at the parish house. The program begins at 12:05 p.m.
