THURSDAY
FLORENCE House of Destiny will be open through Saturday and Oct. 30-31, from 6:30 p.m.-until, at First Baptist Church. Admission is free.
The House of Destiny is not a haunted house, but a walk-thru adventure following two teen-agers from the present into the afterlife. Strobe lights, fire, smoke effects and darkness are used in the production.
The adventure is suggested for children 9 and older; younger children are encouraged to visit with an adult. Groups of 10 to 12 people will tour the house with a guide; individuals will be placed in a group. Participants may exit the house at any time. Counseling and follow-up will be provided.

DECATUR A county wide prayer chain service will be held Oct. 27 at 5 p.m. at East Central Community College's Warrior football field.
Ministers of various faiths will pray on different topics. The service is open to all churches, businesses and individuals.
WEST POINT The Northside Christian Church will host a harvest carnival and banquet on Oct. 27.
The carnival will be held in the Sally Kate Winters Park from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and the banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. and the beginning at 6:30 p.m. The day will include fun, food and fellowship.
LINDEN, Ala. The Seven Seals Program will be held Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Pine Forest Baptist Church's annual fall festival will be presented Oct. 31, from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. The day will feature food, fun and games for all ages.
Community Day will be held at Jones Chapel Church of God on Nov. 3, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
The day will include free food, door prizes, live music, games and other attractions.
The church is located 6 miles south of Meridian on Highway 145.
Derrick Dewayne Pringle of Savannah Grove Missionary Baptist Church will present his trial sermon on Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m.
PHILADELPHIA Revival will be held Nov. 4-8 at Spring Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Mike Smithey will be guest evangelist. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Nov. 4 and at 7 p.m. Nov. 5-8.
The church is located at 12901 Road 614.
QUITMAN The Holy Spiritualaires of Laurel will be in concert Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Nebo AME Church.
The church is located in the Crandall Community.
