OBITUARIES FOR MONDAY, SEPT. 10, 2001

PHILADELPHIA Services for Pete Johnson will be held today at 3 p.m. at John E. Stephens Chapel with the Revs. Howell Thrash and Mike Jernigan officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in the Stephenstown Community.
Mr. Johnson, 69, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, in his family home.
Survivors include his wife, Nelda Johnson, two sons, Calvin Johnson and Michael Johnson, two sisters, Bobbie Graham and Rena Fortenberry, all of Philadelphia; two daughters, Wendy Johnson of Philadelphia and Gayle Anderson of Denham Springs, La.; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
WINSTON HARRIS SPARROW

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Winston Harris "Wink" Sparrow will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Higdon and George Myers officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sparrow, 79, of Lavaca, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, in his home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include two sons, David Sparrow and Kent Sparrow, both of Lavaca; three daughters, Susan S. Boney of Mobile, Tammy S. Lewis and Kim S. O'Neill, both of Meridian; a brother, Pettus Sparrow of Butler; three sisters, Sara Rentz of Lavaca, Wilda Sparrow and Viva Weeks, both of Pensacola, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to Patrician Academy or Hopewell Baptist Church.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial services for Tom Penry Jr. will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home with Elder Eric Loving officiating. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Penry, 72, of Toomsuba, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, at Riley Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Millie Penry of Laurel; three sons, Joseph Penry and his wife, Diana, of Carthage, James Green of Meridian and Ollie Green and his wife, Linda, of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Margaret Delois Smith and her husband, Charles, of Meridian; 10 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
BOBBY CRAIG BURROUGH

McCOMB Services for Bobby Craig Burrough will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Catchings Funeral Home with the Revs. James Griffith and Brandy Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in Holmesville Cemetery.
Mr. Burrough, 35, of McComb, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, in Pike County. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include his parents, Bobby Frank Burrough and Margaret Griffith Burrough, his fiance, Joni Spears and a son, Bobby Landon Burrough, all of McComb; a brother, Eddie Brister and his wife, Debi, of Demopolis, Wyo.; three sisters, Shirley Morgan and her husband, David, of Salome, Ariz., Lisa Elridge and her husband, Robert, and Annette Daniels and her husband, Greg, all of Meridian; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home and Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m.

Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Gertrude Brown of Meridian who died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, at Heartfelt Hospice.

Arrangements were incomplete at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home for Sherman McDaniel Sr., 85, of Meridian, who died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at Sumter County Nursing Home.
