    OBITUARIES FOR WEDNESDAY, AUG. 29, 2001

    VIOLA J. HAGAN
    Homemaker, wife and mother
    Services for Viola J. Hagan will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Elvin Sunds officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Hagan, 75, of Meridian, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a very active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where she served on the Alter Guild.
    Survivors include two daughters, Marie Hagan of Meridian and Melinda Hagan of Oakwood, Ga.; a son, Mike Hagan of Hattiesburg; five grandchildren, Jimmy, Pete and Denny Keys, Kelly Mitchell and Katie Mensinger; five great-grandchildren, Brandi and T.J. Keys, Makenzie and Madison Mitchell and Owen Keys.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, J.E. Hagan.
    The family requests memorials be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
    THOMAS E. BARBER
    Retired oil field construction worker
    TAYLORSVILLE Services for Thomas E. Barber were held Tuesday at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial was in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Smith County.
    Mr. Barber, 75, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, in his home.
    Survivors include his wife, Bertha Blackwell Barber; two sons, Ralph Barber and his wife, Brenda, and Jimmy Barber and his wife, Kathy, all of Taylorsville; a daughter, Penny Scott of Meridian; a brother, Albert Barber of Collinsville; three sisters, Henrietta Blakeney and Pauline Blackwell, both of Taylorsville, and Bertha Smith of Union; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
    LEE ROY CARMICHAEL
    Truck driver for Choctaw Maid Farms
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Lee Roy Carmichael will be held today at 4 p.m. at Sand Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Lloyd Adcock officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with McClain-Hays Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Carmichael, 51, of Philadelphia, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at University Medical Center in Jackson.
    Survivors include his wife, Andrae Carmichael and a daughter, Carly Deann Carmichael, both of Philadelphia; three sons, Bryan Lee Carmichael of Balch Springs, Texas, Chris Carmichael of Mesquite, Texas, and Chad Goldman of Philadelphia; a sister, Linda Copeland of Ringling, Okla.; a brother, Tex Carmichael of Lena; and three grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Carmichael.
    CURTIS LEE DENSON
    Retried mechanical engineer
    COVINGTON, La. Services for Curtis Lee Denson will be held today at 7:30 p.m. at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery in Meridian.
    Mr. Denson, 79, of Covington, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, in his home. A native of Mississippi, Mr. Denson served in World War II in the Pacific Theater in the Army Air Corps as a crew chief and then tech sergeant. He returned to graduate in 1948 with an engineering degree from Mississippi State University.
    Upon becoming a registered professional engineer with Louisiana Power and Light, he served his profession through the Louisiana Engineering Society and the Instrumentation Society of America.
    He also served as elder and deacon for various Presbyterian churches throughout his life.
    Survivors include his beloved wife, Lorena Doerries; two sons, Lee Denson Jr. and Dave Denson; a daughter, Dottie D. Schroeder; three stepchildren, Ernest "Ben" Doerries III, Charles B. Doerries and Susan H. Doerries; and four grandchildren. He is the brother of Charles J. Denson and Corinne D. King.
    He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Brewster Denson.
    The family requests memorials be made to Hospice of St. Tammany or Faith Presbyterian Church.
    MICHAEL BRUCE WALKER
    Memorial services for Michael Bruce Walker will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Laird officiating.
    Mr. Walker, 52, of St. George, Utah, died this month in St. George. He was retired from the San Diego School District. Mr. Walker was an honor graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi.
    Survivors include a daughter, Susan Marie Walker and a son, Christopher Michael Walker, both of San Diego; his mother, Lorene L. Walker and a sister, Susan Teresa Walker, both of Brandon; and a brother, Milton Lewis Walker Jr. of Santa Moria, Calif.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Milton Lewis Walker Sr.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
    ANNIE M. RUSH
    Housekeeper
    DEKALB Services for Annie M. Rush will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Weldon Short officiating. Burial will be in Depot Hill Street Cemetery.
    Mrs. Rush, 64, of DeKalb, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, at The Speciality Hospital of Meridian.
    Survivors include her husband, John Rush Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; a son, Aaron Rush of DeKalb; her father, Elias Burton of DeKalb; two brothers, Sam Burton and his wife, Pearlie, of Meridian and James C. Burton of DeKalb; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her mother and a daughter.
    Visitation will be Thursday one hour prior to the service.
    ESCO B. FULTON
    Retired school teacher
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Esco B. Fulton will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Davey Wilkinson, Fred Read and Dr. Prentiss Gordon III officiating. Burial will be in Cooks Chapel Cemetery.
    Mrs. Fulton, 85, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Neshoba County and a longtime resident of the Forestdale Community. She was a retired teacher from Neshoba Central School. Mrs. Fulton previously taught and coached girls basketball at Forestdale and East Neshoba.
    She was a member of Cooks Chapel United Methodist Church and Forestdale Homemakers Ladies Club for many years.
    Survivors include four daughters, Ellen Balzli of Vancleave, Peggy Blount of Foley, Ala., Lynda Marshall of Philadelphia and Gaynell Roundtree of Clinton; a son, Keith Fulton of Belzoni; three sisters, Huster Gilmore of Sebastopol, Charlene Wilson of Natchez and Henry Jo Woods of Indian Springs, N.J.; three brothers, Okley Brewer and Edgar M. "Dink" Brewer, both of Philadelphia, and Dewayne Brewer of Jackson; her special extended family, Margie Johnson and Janell Johnson, both of Noxapater; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, James Fulton in 2000.
    Pallbearers will be Chuck Marshall, Devon Marshall, Wayne Marshall, Daniel Fulton, Brian Roundtree, J.D. Balzli, Charly Balzli and Bradley Fulton.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Marshall, Dalton Marshall and Zack Pope.
    Visitation will be Thursday from 3 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home for Abraham McClinton Sr., 80, of Meridian, who died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Lester Ramsey, 45, of Meridian, who died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, in Meridian.
