    OBITUARIES FOR TUESDAY, JULY 24, 2001

    FRANK SOCKEY
    Marshal Durbin employee
    SEBASTOPOL Services for Frank Sockey were to be held today at 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion Church with the Rev. Eugene Tubby officiating. Burial was to be in the church cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Sockey, 42, of Carthage, died Saturday, July 21, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Sockey of Laurel and Natasha Jefferson of Heidelberg; two sisters, Mary Helen Denson and Sue Ellen Comby, both of Walnut Grove; three brothers, Homer Jerald Sockey of Philadelphia, Tony Sockey of Carthage and Mike Sockey of Conehatta; four grandchildren; a very special friend, Shirley Jim of Carthage, and several nieces and nephews.
    WILLIE GENE AMOS

    SEBASTOPOL Services for Willie Gene Amos will be held held today at 2 p.m. at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Gibson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Amos, 48, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, July 21, 2001.
    Survivors include two sons, Roger Amos and Andrew Amos, both of Troy, Ala.; his mother, Christine Amos and two sisters, Janice Amos and Sue Amos, all of Philadelphia; four brothers, Sam Amos of Hope Mills, N.C., Willie Jim Amos, Al Amos and Stephen Amos, all of Philadelphia; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
    ROSEMARY WHITE WEST
    QUITMAN Rosemary White West, 59, died Sunday, July 22, 2001, in Houston, Texas. She was born April 18, 1942, in Quitman. Mrs. West grew up in Mobile, Ala., and was a graduate of Murphy High School Class of 1960. She lived in various parts of the country with her family including 25 years in Houston. She returned to Stonewall and had resided there for the past eight years.
    Mrs. West will be greatly missed by her children, Lee West Adams of Houston, Cliff West III of Enterprise, Mary Ellen West Horlock and her husband, Brad, of Houston; her mother, Doris White; a brother, Gary White; and three sisters, Kitty White, Charlie White and Nancy Wolk. She will be watching over her three grandchildren, Taren Lee Adams, Hunter West Adams and Katherine Elizabeth Horlock. She will be greatly missed by her faithful companion, Kirby.
    She also leaves behind her mother-in-law, Laura Nell West, her former husband, Cliff West Jr. and her "wife-in-law" Linda West. She entrusts the continued guidance and teaching of her children and grandchildren to their father and her friend.
    She was preceded in death by her father, R.E. White.
    The family wished to thank the caring staff of Hospice in the Texas Medical Center and the many, many friends and family members for their loving support over the last five months. The cards, letters, phone calls, pictures and videos meant more to all of us than words could express.
    Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Faith Assembly of God in Quitman. Burial will be in Stonewall Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home.
    CHARLES ANDREW REEVES

    BUTLER, Ala. Services for Charles Andrew "Drew" Reeves will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Stafford Full Gospel Church with the Revs. Mark Hartzog and Randall Hyatt officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Gilbertown with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Eight-year-old Drew, of Gilbertown, died Sunday, July 22, 2001, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La.
    Survivors include his mother, Tammy M. Reeves of Nanafalia; his mother, Andrew Lee Reeves of Pollock, La.; a brother, Jesse Lee Reeves of Gilbertown; his maternal grandparents, Jesse and Rose Stafford of Gilbertown, and Talmadge and Louise Mazingo; paternal grandmother, Mary Reeves of Pollock; maternal great-grandparents, L.P. and Marie Burnham of Butler; and his maternal great-grandmother, Gertrude Mazingo of Gilbertown.
    Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the church.
    EDWARD HUBBARD JR.
    Meridian Cab Company employee
    Services for Edward Hubbard Jr. will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Cephus Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Jefferson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Hubbard, 47, of Lauderdale, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, at the University of Medical Center in Jackson.
    Survivors include his wife, Martha Hubbard of Meridian; a daughter, Tolisa Hubbard of Atlanta; two sons, Clinton D. Hubbard and Tyrell Hubbard, both of Meridian; his parents, Edward Hubbard Sr. and Octavia Hubbard, both of Lauderdale; two sisters, Edna B. Hubbard of Lauderdale and Linda Irving and her husband, Lawson, of New York; a brother, George Hubbard and his wife, Catherine, of Russell.
    Visitation will be Thursday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home of DeKalb for Maud McCaleb Scott, 78, formerly of DeKalb, who died Saturday, July 21, 2001, at St. Mary Hospital in Milwaukee.

    Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home of DeKalb for Willie J. Rush, 72, of Philadelphia, who died Sunday, July 22, 2001, at the VA Medical Center in Jackson.
    GUSSIE C. ROSS
    Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Gussie C. Ross, 85, of Quitman, who died Monday, July 23, 2001, in her home.
    DR. LOWERY MOORE
    Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Dr. Lowery Moore, 65, of Meridian, who died Monday, July 23, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
