Holifield, Doherty

Jeanie Lynn Doherty and Richard Kerney Holifield were married Friday, May 11, 2001, at First Baptist Church of Union. The candlelight ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Marcus Finch.
Parents of the couple are Ann Le Blanc of Union, Kenneth Doherty of Waynesboro and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Holifield of Waynesboro.
The bride is the granddaughter of Gwen Holley of Union and Billy Joe Holley of Waynesboro.
The bridegroom is the grandson of Alice Williams of Waynesboro and the late Frog Williams.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Pam Giles, pianist; and Rick Malone, soloist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of white Duchess satin enhanced with a scooped neckline and small tucks around the bodice. The chapel-length train fell from a satin bow at the waistline. Her satin headband held two tiers of elbow-length illusion.
Kenda Williams, cousin of the bridegroom, served as matron of honor. Tally Holifield, sister of the bridegroom, served as bridesmaid.
Matt Williams, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Rusty Pitts and Jason Purvis of Waynesboro.
A reception was held at the home of Gwen Holley following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in Gulf Shores, the couple resides in Union.
