    OBITUARIES FOR FRIDAY, JULY 6, 2001

    Retired foundry foreman Soul
    Services for G. Horace Clark will be held today at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Nick Holden and Ed Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Mr. Clark, 80, of the Long Creek Community, died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, in his home. He was a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church and a Mason at Calvary Masonic Lodge. He served with the 8th Division Air Force during World War II. Mr. Clark retired after 44 years with Soul Steam Feed Works.
    Survivors include his wife, Marguerite "Mac" Clark, a son, Larry Glenn Clark, a brother, H.K. "Bo" Clark, and a sister, Hazel Sims, all of Meridian.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Dumas Harris and Hettie Clark; sisters, Sarah Boswell, Margie Pickard, Vera Lois Spinks, Doris Crawford, Necie Daniels, Ruby Cox, Lunna Phillips and Mattie Ruth Bunyard; and brothers, Howard Clark and David Clark.
    Pallbearers will be Terry Clark, Jeff Clark, Donald Boswell, Brad Crawford, Jimmy Secrist, Ryan Castle, Roy Quinn, Chuck Pickard, Kyle Rutledge and Red Dowdy.
    Honorary pallbearers will be members of the adult Men's Sunday School class and Don Peeples.
    SHERMAN NUNN
    Retired farmer
    DEKALB Services for Sherman Nunn will be held today at 2 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Preston with the Rev. Melvin Rush officiating. Burial will be in Symia Cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Nunn, 77, of Preston, died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at Riley Nursing Center.
    Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Nunn of Preston; four sons, Council Nunn of Pascagoula, Marshall Nunn of East St. Louis, Ill., Curtis L. Griffin of Preston and Leroy Griffin of DeKalb; four daughters, Bridgette Gibbs of Meridian, Sandra Nunn of Preston, Vernice Payton and her husband, Obie, of DeKalb and Bessie R. Griffin of East St. Louis; four brothers, Eddie Nunn of Morton, Tenn., Elbert Kirk and Quinton Nunn and his wife, Callie, all of Preston, and Bill Kirk of New York; two sisters, Enda Griffin and her husband, Roosevelt, and Sister Brenda Phillips and her husband, Elder Samuel Phillips, all of Preston; 22 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and several other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by two children and five siblings.
    Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the church.
    HELEN WILMAR TOMLIN

    QUITMAN Services for Helen Wilmar Tomlin will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dennis Duvall and Kevin Ivy officiating. Burial will be in Hiwannee Cemetery in Wayne County.
    Mrs. Tomlin, 85, of Shubuta, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, in her home.
    Survivors include a brother, Paul Duvall and a sister, Mary Lewis, both of Shubuta; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Tomlin.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    BERNICE PRUETT WRIGHT
    Retired sales manager U.S. Naval Exchange
    Graveside services for Bernice Pruett Wright will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with the Revs. Allen Dearing and Shane Freeman officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Wright, 57, of Bailey, died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, in her home. She was devoted to her family. She will be greatly missed.
    Survivors include her husband, Wayne Wright, two daughters, Sherry Bruner and her husband, Richard, and Carla Thornton, all of Bailey; a son, Jason Wright and his wife, Tina, of Lauderdale; four sisters, Dorothy Miller and her husband, Walter, of Gulfport, Eva Self and her husband, Larry, of Garden Grove, Calif., Hazel Stuart and Jane Gore, both of Georgia; grandchildren, J.T. Thornton II, Suzanne Bruner, LeAnne Bruner, Darren Farmer, McKenzi Wright and Meagan Wright.
    She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar H. Pruett; her mother, Essie Jewel Pruett; and brothers, William Pruett, John Pruett and Harry Pruett.
    Pallbearers will be Russell Wright, Malcolm Parker, Randy Wright, Johnny Wright, J.T. Thornton II and Vincent Wright.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    LIZZIE CAPLES
    Laborer
    DEKALB – Services for Lizzie Caples will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Union, with the Rev. A.C. Rush officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Caples, 104, of Neshoba County, died Monday, July 2, 2001, at Beverly Health Care in Meridian.
    Survivors include a sister, Alma Payne of DeKalb; a brother, Sylvester Hudson of Meridian; 18 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by two daughters and nine siblings.
    Visitation will be today at 2 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
    VELMA J. RAINEY
    Services for Velma J. Rainey will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Bob Followell officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
    Mrs. Rainey, 86, of Meridian, died Thursday, July 5, 2001, at Riley Hospital. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
    Survivors include two sisters, Minnie Gossett and Johnye Akins, a daughter-in-law Donna Rainey, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Neal, all of Meridian; a granddaughter, Lisa Rainey of Tupelo; a grandson, John Rainey of Atlanta; several nephews, Jimmy Gossett, William Akins, Jerry Neal, Jimmy Neal and Charles "Buddy" Gossett; a niece, Betty Campbell; great nephews Terry Gossett and Wyndall Gossett; great nieces Sharon Moore, Laura Collum and Sheryl Mitchell.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Rainey, her son, Ron Rainey, and several brothers and sisters.
    Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
    FAITH LOUISE CAMPBELL

    QUITMAN – Services for Faith Louise Campbell will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel in Quitman with the Revs. James Seale and Larry Browning officiating. Burial will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Quitman.
    Mrs. Campbell, 91, of Quitman, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at Lakeside Living Center in Quitman.
    Survivors include a son, George David Campbell of Quitman, two daughters, Susie Simmons of Hiattsville, Md., and Ruth Clark of Waynesboro, seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Campbell, and two sons, John A. Campbell and James Alton Campbell.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    KENNETH JOHN
    Social Service Worker
    SEBASTOPOL – Services for Kenneth John will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Pearl River Baptist Church, with the Rev. Calvin Gibson officiating. Burial will be in New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. John, 53, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. He was employed with Social Services.
    Survivors include a son, Christopher Long of California; two brothers, Tommy Lee John of Grand Prarie, Texas, and Bobby John of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a sister Patty Ann John of Irving, Texas; two grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Loretta John.
