50th anniversary
Henry and Doris Thompson
Henry and Doris Thompson of Lauderdale will celebrate their 50th anniversary Saturday, June 30, 2001, at Lauderdale United Methodist Church from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. The Thompson's will begin their anniversary celebration by renewing their vows, followed by a reception hosted by their children, Paul Thompson and Chuck Thompson, their spouses, and their four grandchildren. Mr. Thompson retired from Dickey Co., and Mrs. Thompson is retired from Meridian Public Schools' Food Service. The couple requests no gifts.
50th anniversary
Keith and Mary Perkins
Keith and Mary Perkins were honored with a dinner at D.T. Grinders in celebration of their 50th anniversary. The Perkins have two daughters, Glenda Calvert of Livingston, Ala. and Debbie Moore and her husband, Johnny, of Lauderdale; four grandsons and a great-grandson. The couple reside in Cuba, Ala., where they were married on June 24, 1951, at Cuba Baptist Church.
60th anniversary
Ray and Ann Daugherty
Ray and Ann Daugherty celebrated their 60th anniversary April 12, 2001, by traveling to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tenn., with 21 family members. The couple spent a day at Dollywood, visited the Dixie Stampede, toured the new Aquarium in Gatlinburg, rode in the mountains and shopped. The Daughertys have two children, Gloria Spivey and her husband, Sonny, and Joe Daugherty and his wife, Susan; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
60th anniversary
Margaret and Joseph Benson
Margaret and Joseph Benson recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. The couple were married June 22, 1941, in Bessemer, Ala. Residents of the Dixon Community in Neshoba County, the Bensons are retired educators. They are members of Pine Grove Church of God. They couple have four children, David Benson of Gainesville, Fla., Jo Ann Ballantine and Lisa Patterson, both of Denton, Texas, and Doug Benson of Dixon; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
