    OBITUARIES FOR SATURDAY, JUNE 16, 2001

    BILLY RAY JAMES
    Mississippi Game and Fish Commission
    Graveside services for Billy Ray James were held Friday at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Ernie Nelson and Jason Gross officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. James, 49, of Collinsville, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and a senior master sergeant in the Mississippi Air National Guard. Mr. James loved golfing, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and was a fan of the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
    Survivors include his wife, Anne James and a daughter, Brittany Anne James, both of Collinsville; his mother, Mildred James of Bailey; three sisters, Carolyn Warren and her husband, Hollis, and Jeannett Everett and her husband, David, all of Bailey, and Janice Darby and her husband, Cliff, of New Orleans; in-laws, Paul and Clara Swearingen and a sister-in-law, Renee Swearingen, all of Suqualena; a brother, Pete James and his wife, Becky, of Allen, Texas; and his special Boston Terrier, Purdy.
    He was preceded in death by a son, Jason James and his father, Herbert James.
    Pallbearers were members of the Air National Guard. Honorary pallbearers were be members of the Game and Fish Commission.

    PHILADELPHIA Graveside services for Richard "Ricky" Barrett were held Friday at Bethsaida Cemetery with the Rev. Ricky Wilcher officiating.
    Mr. Barrett, 49, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
    Survivors include a son, Richard Charles Barrett of West Palm Beach, Fla.; his mother and stepfather, Bobbie Nell Tidwell Sanderford and Melvin Sanderford of Meridian; and a brother, Phillip Smith of Meridian.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Otis Paul Barrett; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Tidwell and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Barrett.
    EDWIN P. JENKINS
    GILBERTOWN, Ala. Graveside services for Edwin P. Jenkins will be held today at 10 a.m. at Hurricane Cemetery, with the Revs. Albert Larson and Hermes Broadhead officiating. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Jenkins, 77, of Gilbertown, died Thursday, June 14, 2001, in Bay Minette.
    Survivors include two brothers, Heyward Jenkins of Axis and David M. Jenkins of Eightmile; and three sisters, Lila Ennis of Mobile, Laura Smith of Gilbertown and Joyce Broadhead of Meridian, Miss.
    FLORENCE MARGARET SPIRES CHAPMAN

    NEWTON Services for Florence Margaret Spires Chapman will be held today at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Oglesbee officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Chapman, 89, of Newton, died Thursday, June 14, 2001, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Bethel WMU and the Bethel Homemakers Club.
    Survivors include two daughters, Martha Lewis and her husband, John, of Pascagoula and Margaret Evans of Cleveland; a son-in-law, Dolphus Carter of Meridian; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Grady Chapman; a daughter, Mary Ellen Chapman Carter; and a grandson, Michael Scot Evans.
    The family requests memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church.
    Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the church.
    LUCILE B. SEVIER
    MONTGOMERY, Ala. Services for Lucile B. Sevier will be held today at 3 p.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in Enterprise, Miss.
    Mrs. Sevier, 93, of Montgomery, died Friday, June 15, 2001.
    She was a life-long resident of Enterprise and a recent resident of Montgomery. Mrs. Sevier was the wife of the late Charles Bertrand Sevier. She was a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Enterprise Women's Club.
    Survivors include two daughters, Helen B. Sevier and Rose Ann Shamburger, both of Montgomery; a son, William M. Sevier and his wife, Carol, of Grand Bay; seven grandchildren, C. James Shamburger and his wife, Margie, Charles B. Shamburger and his wife, Tracy, Jonathan Shamburger, Helen S. Herndon and her husband, Steve, all of Montgomery, William Steven Sevier and his wife, Dawn, of Layton, Utah, Charles R. Sevier of Portsmith, Va., and David B. Sevier of Mobile; and two great-grandchildren, Tanner Shamburger and Millicent Noel Herndon.
    Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
    ALBERTHA L. BRUNSON
    Retired beautician
    Services for Albertha L. Brunson will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at 31st Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. S.L. Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Brunson, 80, of Meridian, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
    Survivors include a son, Charlie Brunson Jr. and his wife, Jo Ann, of Meridian; two brothers, Nealy Love and his wife, Laura, of Meridian and Leroy Love and his wife, Mary Nell, of Chicago; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be Sunday from 4 p.m.-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
    HOMER BOUNDS
    Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Homer Bounds who died Thursday, June 14, 2001, at The Care Center in Louisville.
    HENRY MORGAN
    Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Henry Morgan, of Meridian, who died Friday, June 15, 2001, in Collierville, Tenn.
