Services for Ashley Brooke Pepple will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Clarence Tilghman, Clarence Qualls and Darrell Dumas officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
Miss Pepple, 16, of Meridian, died Sunday, April 8, 2001, in Lauderdale County. She was an 11th grade student at Northeast Lauderdale High School and a member of the National Honor Society. She attended Cornerstone Church and was a lifeguard at Barbara Henson Daycare. Ashley enjoyed swimming and softball.
Survivors include her father, Charles H. Pepple Jr., her mother, Laurie Jones Gardner, a brother, Charles "Trey" H. Pepple III, four sisters, Ashley Leeanne Pepple, Megan Patricia Pepple, Mary Danielle Pepple and Chelsea Taylor Pepple, and her paternal grandparents, Charles H. Pepple Sr. and his wife, Mary, all of Meridian; maternal grandparents, Judi Crawford of Jackson and Steve Jones of Tupelo; paternal great-grandmother, Alice Pepple of Pennsylvania; her maternal great-grandmothers, Juanita Smith of Meridian and Barbara Jones of Grenada; an aunt, Natalie Baltzell and her husband, Brian, of Foley; paternal great-aunts, Linda Wells and her husband, Bob, and Nancy Rogers and her husband, Tracy, all of Pennsylvania; an uncle Steve Jones of Ft. Rucker, Ala.; cousins, Brian Keith and Natasha Renee Baltzell, Grantham Jones, Billy Pepple and Tina Wenrich; and a special friend, Drew Stribling.
She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfathers, Melvin E. Smith and Leland G. Jones Jr.; paternal great-grandparents, Theron and Nannie McDonald; great-grandfather, Walter Pepple; and a great-uncle, Leland D. Jones.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Breast Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Pallbearers will be Drew "Biscuit" Smith, Drew Stribling, Gary Gamber, Peter Thomas, Josh Carroll, Brian Tardo, Justin Qualls and Patrick Brogan.
Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
MARGARET COLEMAN WHEELER
BETHANY, Okla. Services for Margaret Coleman Wheeler were held Thursday, April 5, at May Avenue United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. Mercer-Adams Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wheeler, 83, of Bethany, a native of Meridian, died Monday, April 2, 2001, in her home.
Survivors include a son, Clifford Robertson of Edmond; two daughters, Margie Wheeler Keene of Branson, Mo. and Tina McCutchen of Bethany; and a sister, Helen Coleman Allen of Meridian, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hal Wheeler.
RICHARD WRIGHT
HANOVER PARK, Ill. Services for Richard Wright were held Sunday at Countryside Funeral Home.
Mr. Wright, 64, died Thursday, April 5, 2001. He was born on Sept. 3, 1936, to Harlan and Bertha Wright in Meridian, Miss.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Judy, whom he married on Nov. 11, 1958, in Chicago. He was the loving father of Deborah and Laura, cherished grandfather of Lindsey and Chloe; and dear brother of Archie Wright and Kenneth Wright, both of Collinsville, Miss. and Bonnie Rogers of Meridian.
ESTES WATKINS SIMMONS

NEWTON Services for Estes Watkins Simmons were to be held today at 10:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Drs. Paul Strahan and Frank Harmon officiating. Burial was to be in Newton Masonic Cemetery.
Mr. Simmons, 71, of Newton, died Monday, April 9, 2001, at Newton Regional Hospital. He was a retired laboratory technician for the Mississippi Highway Department Central District. Mr. Simmons served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include a sister, Ina Margret Smith of Decatur; a brother, Glover Burnell Simmons Jr. of Newton; and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glover Burnell Simmons Sr. and Eleanor Watkins Simmons.
WILLIE JUREL TATE
MILLRY, Ala. Services for Willie Jurel Tate will be held today at 2 p.m. at Independent Community Church. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery with Phillips Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Tate, 73, of Millry, died Sunday, April 8, 2001, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ann Waite Tate and two sisters, Arcie V. Busby and Lossie Mae Dearmon, all of Millry; four daughters, Charlotte Renea Jeffreys, Robin Regina Smith and Jurelleen Stevens, all of Millry, and Rachel Dynell Gibson of Barrytown; and seven grandchildren.
OKLA BOZEMAN
Retired machine mechanic
PHILADELPHIA Services for Okla Bozeman will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Dwight Faulkenbery and Mark Cloys officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
Mr. Bozeman, 82, of Philadelphia, died Monday, April 9, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a machine mechanic for Wells Lamont in Philadelphia.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Bozeman of Philadelphia; three daughters, Pat Chisolm and Judy McMillan, both of Philadelphia, and Sylvia Hardy of Northport, Ala.; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Bozeman.
Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
JERRY WAYNE THOMPSON

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Jerry Wayne Thompson will be held Wednesday in the chapel of Bumpers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Morgan Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson, 59, of Toxey, died Sunday, April 8, 2001, in Meridian, Miss.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Johnson Thompson of Toxey; two sons, Bart Thompson of Jachin and Roger Thompson of Toxey; three daughters, Cheryl Johnson and Tracy Goodman, both of Butler, and Tammy Thompson of Toxey; his parents, Lorenzo and Lavelle Thompson of Toxey; a brother, Jimmy Thompson of Butler; a sister, Patricia Ann Cave of Toxey; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Lucy, 88, of Meridian, died Monday, April 9, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
GLADYS MILLSAPS GOULD
QUITMAN Gladys Millsaps Gould, age 72, a long time resident of Quitman and member of First Baptist Church, died Sunday, April 8, 2001, in Atlanta, where she had lived with her daughter.
Graveside services for Mrs. Gould will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Odd Fellows Cemetery with the Rev. Grady Crowell officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home.
She is survived by her sister, Orene Bingham of Blue Springs; a daughter, Barbara Sartin and her husband, Gene, of Atlanta; a son, Doug Gould and his wife, Pam, of Amherst, N.H.; grandchildren, Bryan and Zac Sartin and Scott and Courtney Gould; and many very special friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Jack P. Gould, in March of 1989; her parents, Julianne Kennedy Millsaps and Johnny Pinkney Millsaps; two brothers, Vester and Jack Millsaps; and a sister, Bernice Luther.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Sartin, Zac Sartin, Scott Gould, Kenneth Robison, James Todd, John Todd, Robert Donald and Michael Dean.
