60th Anniversary
CHARLES AND RUTH SPIVEY
Charles and Ruth Spivey will celebrated their 60th anniversary with their children and grandchildren. They were married on March 5, 1941, in Meridian. Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to Michigan where Charles was drafted into World War II. They now reside in Conroe, Texas, with their daughter Paula Stringer and her husband, Bill. Their son, Philip Spivey and his wife, Barbara, have given their parents a cruise to Vancouver in May with the entire family. The couple have a grandson, Shaun, and a granddaughter, Erin.
50th Anniversary
WILLIAM AND MARY BERNARD
A celebration of the 50th wedding anniversary of William and Mary Bernard was held Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church. The afternoon event was hosted by the couple's four children and their spouses: Gary and Sharon Bernard of Houston, Texas; Carol Glisson of Nashville; William and Rita Dearman and Andy and Christi Bernard, all of Meridian. The Bernards were married Feb. 23, 1951. The couple have 7 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
