    OBITUARIES FOR SUNDAY, FEB. 25, 2001

    BILL GEORGE
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Bill George will be held today at 3:30 p.m. at Tucker Community Church in Kemper County with the Rev. Randy Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in Tucker Cemetery with McClain-Hays Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. George, 89, of DeKalb, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at his home.
    Survivors include his brothers, Nelson George of Jackson, Harmon George of Murrieta, Calif., Harvey George of Brandon, Jesse George of Clinton and Robert George of DeKalb.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Allie Kirkland George in 1989.
    MARY JACQUELINE CHAMBLIN

    Memorial services for Mary Jacqueline Chamblin will be held Sunday, March 4 at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church with the Rev. Dr. Lester Palmer officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Chamblin, 74, of Meridian, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
    Visitation with the family will be at the church after services.
    JERRY CURRY
    Retired truck driver
    Services for Jerry Curry will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Scott Wright officiating. Burial will be in Blackwater Cemetery in Kemper County.
    Mr. Curry, 64, of Meridian, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at Riley Hospital.
    Survivors include two sons, Jerry Curry and Raymond Curry, both of Collinsville; a daughter, Rena Mahannah of Memphis; two brothers, Rodney Curry and Travis Curry, both of Meridian; a sister, Nell Wright of Meridian; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today from 2 -4 p.m. at the funeral home.
    WILTON TOWNSEND

    PHILADELPHIA Services for Wilton "Red" Townsend will be held today at 2 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Jones officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery with McClain-Hays Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Townsend, 76, of Senatobia, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at North Oak Regional Medical Center in Senatobia. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
    Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Townsend of Senatobia; a son, Larry Townsend of Senatobia; a stepdaughter, Lynn Weaver of Ridgeland; a sister, Edna Johnson of Macon; a brother, Otis Townsend of Madison; five step grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.
    EDWARD J. GLEASON
    RIDGELAND Memorial services for Edward J. Gleason will be held Monday at 6 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Meridian with Nowell-Flippin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Gleason, 47, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, in Jackson.
    Survivors include his wife, Leticia Gleason of Oaxaca, Mexico; his father, David C. Gleason Sr. of Meridian; three children, Edward J. Gleason Jr. of Tampa, Fla., Tishia Gleason and Georgina Serrano, both of Oaxaca; a sister, Capt. Mary Gleason of Arlington, Va.; three brothers, David Gleason Jr. of Grover City, Calif., Dan Gleason of Madison and Pat Gleason of Jackson; and a grandson.
    The family requests memorials be made to the Boy Scouts of America, 855 Riverside Drive, Jackson MS 39202.
    ARTHUR LEE MAXWELL

    BUTLER, Ala. Services for Authur Lee Maxwell will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Billy Burge and the Rev. Franklin McLelland officiating. Burial will be in Butler City Cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Maxwell, 74, of Butler, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
    Survivors include his wife, Janell Maxwell of Butler; two sons, Robert Arthur Maxwell of Mobile and Dr. Andrew L. Maxwell of Dothan; three daughters, Sarah Jane Rives of Jackson, Ramona Sue Fields of Meridian, Miss. and Sondra Jena Blackwell of Daphne; a brother, Jake Maxwell of Mobile; four sisters, Thelma Jean Watson of Texas, Deana Sparrow of Ozark, Verna Jo Harry and Polly Littlepage, both of Butler.; and nine grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today from 4:30-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
    TURNER LEROY DUVALL SR.
    QUITMAN Services for Turner Leroy Duvall Sr. will be held today at 3 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Mike DePhillips and Dennis Duvall officiating. Burial will be in Duvall Cemetery.
    Mr. Duvall, 71, of Quitman, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
    Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Duvall of Quitman; two sons, Jerry Dale Belcher of Butler, Ala., and Turner Duvall Jr. of Waynesboro; a daughter, Cherrilucas of Quitman; a brother, Paul Duvall of Shubuta; two sisters, Helen Tomlin and Mary Ann Lewis, both of Shubuta; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for William McCarty, 82, of Meridian, who died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at Queen City Nursing Home.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Jimmie Sulton, 64, of Meridian, who died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Maggie Hudson, 75, who died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    LENA MAE PACHO
    Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Lena Mae Pacho, 83, who died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
