    OBITUARIES FOR FRIDAY, FEB. 16, 2001

    ASLENA L. CHAMBERLIN
    Homemaker
    DEKALB Services for Aslena L. Chamberlin will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Gholson, with the Rev. James E. Sheffield officiating. Burial will be the church cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Chamberlin, 74, of DeKalb, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at Riley Hospital.
    Survivors include seven sons, Marcell Stennis, Roy and R.C. Chamberlin, all of Anderson, Ind., Bennie Chamberlin of Lafayette, Ind., Johnny Chamberlin of Leakesville., Levi and James Chamberlin of DeKalb; five daughters, Minnie Coleman and Lula Chamberlin of Preston, Lillie King of Evanston, Ill., Mary Chamberlin of Noxapater, Mamie Wimsatt of Anderson; 34 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine Wheeler of Anderson and Ruby Stennis of Chicago; five brothers, O.T., Ozell, Robert and D.V. Stennis, all of Anderson, and Earnest Stennis of Gulfport; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents.
    Visitation will be today from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    BESSIE R. HARRISON
    Services for Bessie R. Harrison will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Barham Chapel with the Revs. Keith Grubbs and W.B. Webb officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Harrison, 82, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at Broadmoor Nursing Home. She was a retired social service employee and a member of Midway Baptist Church.
    Survivors include three sons, William "Tommy" Harrison, and his wife, Bobbie; Ted R. Harrison and his wife, Denise, all of Meridian; Travis E. Harrison and his wife, Dianna, of Asheville, N.C.; a sister, Mary Lund, of Baltimore; seven grandchildren, Tammy Miles, Twyla Hurst, Scott Harrison, Stephen Harrison, Mark Harrison, Allison Harrison and Matthew Harrison; and six great-grandchildren.
    Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Harrison, and her parents, Berry and Katie Rainer.
    Visitation will be today from 5p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Pallbearers will be Scott Harrison, Stephen Harrison, Mark Harrison, Matthew Harrison, Gene Miles and Jody Hurst.
    ROSA M. RUFFIN
    Services for Rosa M. Ruffin will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Church of God in Christ in DeSoto, with the Rev. Elder Paul McGlothin officiating. Burial will be in DeSoto Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Ruffin, 82, of Quitman, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001 at Integrated Health Services in Atlanta. She was a homemaker.
    Survivors include three sisters, Maudine Parker and Annie Bell Roberts, both of Atlanta, and Billie Ann Hood of Milwaukee, Wis.; and a brother, T.J. Parker of Milwaukee.
    VIitation will be in the church one hour prior to the service.
    MAGGIE LEE CARR CROWELL
    LOUISVILLE Services for Maggie Lee Carr Crowell will be on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Murphy Creek Baptist Church, with the Revs. Terrell Stringer and Arnold Davis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
    Mrs. Crowell, 93, of Louisville, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001 at HC Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman. She was a homemaker.
    Survivors include two sons, James M. Crowell of Columbia, Mo., and Grady D. Crowell of Quitman; five sisters, Mildred McLeod, Mable Herrington, Maxine Hurt, Myron Hill and Margaret Rogers all of Louisville; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
    Mrs. Crowell was preceded in death by her husband, Minor Crowell, a son, Bobbie Marion Crowell, and five brothers, Emmette Carr, J.E. Carr, George Carr, Therrell Carr and Harold Carr.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at Tilghman Funeral Home in Louisville.
    Memorials may be made to Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund on Bond Road in Louisville, Miss. 39339.
    JAMES WOODROW MADISON
    Retired building contractor
    Services for James Woodrow Madison will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Shane Freeman and Bob Farwell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
    Mr. Madison, 87, of Marion, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, at Benchmark Health Care Center. He was a member and deacon at Calvary Baptist Church, where he was also a Sunday School teacher. A native of Kemper County, Mr. Madison attended DeKalb High School, Scooba Jr. College and played varsity football and basketball. Mr. Madison was in construction and a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Navy.
    Survivors include his wife, Ruth Kittrell Madison, of Meridian; a sister-in-law, Marbeth McKee and her husband, Clark, of Hattiesburg; 11 nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, G.W. and Lou Ella Madison; two brothers, Lavern and Kellis Lamar Madison; three sisters, Valeria Madison Bryant, Gladys Madison Lang and Helen Madison Daniels.
    Pallbearers will be John Lee Harbour, Bob Harbour, David Ethridge, Jason Ethridge, Don McKee, David McKee and Brad McKee. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Calvary Baptist Church.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    DESAREE B. O'HARA
    Homemaker
    DEKALB Services for Desaree B. O'Hara will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church in Meridian with the Rev. Excel Williams officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Toomsuba with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. O'Hara, 70, of Meridian, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice in Meridian.
    Survivors include a daughter, Mary Edna Patton of Meridian; a son, Larry T. O'Hara of Atlanta, a brother, Willie Lee Bell of Meridian, seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren , several nephews other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her husband and a child.
    Visitation will be Saturday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Chapel Funeral Home in Meridian.

    Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home for Odie M. Shields, 51, of Scooba, who died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001 at St. Domnick Hospital in Jackson.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Ivory Needham, 88, of Meridian, who died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.

    Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home for Mattie L. Larkin, 94, of Meridian, who died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001 at Guardian Hospice.
