    OBITUARIES FOR MONDAY, DEC. 11, 2000

    YORK, Ala. Services for Nellie J. Bailey Young will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Larry G. Teasley officiating. Burial will be in York City Cemetery.
    Mrs. Young, 81, of York, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
    Survivors include a sister, Nettie Mae Turner of Holly Springs, N.C.; two brothers, Amos Lee Bailey of York and Gene Bailey of Huntsville; and several nieces and nephews.

    NEWTON Services for Eunice Christine Cochran Mason were to be held today at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, with the Revs. John Harold Bethune, Paul Oglesbee and Dr. Frank Harmon officiating. Burial was to be in the church cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Mason, 81, of Newton, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Conva-Rest Nursing Home. She was a native of Newton County and a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school class and was a member of the WMU Circle. She was also a member of the Board of Directors for the South Newton Rural Water Association.
    Survivors include a daughter, Lanette Bryan of Madison; a son, James "Jimmy" Mason and his wife, Glenda, of Newton; three sisters, Hazel Chizmandia of Fairfield, Conn., May Dell Hayes of Meridian, and Mildred Long of Newton; two brothers, Paul V. "Tiny" Cochran of Newton and Larry B. Cochran of Horse Shoe Bay, Texas; six grandchildren, Sarah Ann Bryan and Dylan Bryan, both of Madison, James R. "Jim" Mason, Jon Mason, Judson F. "Judd" Mason and Matthew G. Mason, all of Newton; two great-grandsons, Jacob B. Mason and Joshua K. Mason, both of Newton; and a several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Mason; a great-grandson, James Colby Mason; a brother, Ernest Ray Cochran; and her parents, Ray Franklin and Ona Mae Cochran.
    Pallbearers include James Hart, Bill Freeman Jr., Robert P. Cochran, Randy Muse, Peter Pierman and Robert Mason. Honorary pallbearers include W.L. Freeman Sr., Emmit Walker and W.A. Barnett.
    NANCY KLEIN JAMES
    Services for Nancy Klein James will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home chapel, with the Revs. Kevin Jones, Gordon Sansing and Richie Davis officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.
    Mrs. James, 77, of Meridian, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at Guardian Angel Hospice. She was a member of Arrowood Baptist Church.
    Survivors include her husband, Frank James of Meridian; a daughter, Dolores Cheatwood and her husband, Bob, of Salem, Ind.; a son, Charles A. James and his wife, Jennifer, of Meridian; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
    Pallbearers will be Donald James, Eric James, Tony James, James Cheatwood, Mark Anderson and Patrick Crowhorn.
    Honorary pallbearers will be C.P. Bozeman, Walter Tucker, Ernest West, John Snowden, Winner Carol Cunningham, Robert Stockton, Robert Buchanan, Eddie Bishop and James Gardner.
    Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

    PICAYUNE Services for William Floyd Massey Sr. will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Rocky Lumpkin officiating. Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery.
    Mr. Massey, a native of Meridian, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Crosby Hospital.
    Survivors include his wife, Ouida Enzor Massey of Picayune; two daughters, Gwendolyn Shoaf of Picayune and Marilyn Massey of Houston, Texas; two sons, Floyd Massey Jr. of Picayune and Charles Massey of Baton Rouge, La.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
    SAMUEL EVERETT FLEMING
    QUITMAN Services for Samuel Everett "Sam" Fleming will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. George Pugh and Blaine McClain officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.
    Mr. Fleming, 77, of Meridian, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at St. Dominic Hospital.
    Survivors include his wife, Earline Fleming of Meridian; a son, Sam Fleming and his wife, Mary, of Meridian; four daughters, Jean Norton of Hernando, Diane Grimley and her husband, Mark, of San Diego, Calif., Carolyn Beddingfield and her husband, Mike, of Meridian, and Gail Gasparetto and her husband, John, of Huntsville, Ala.; eight brothers, Bill Fleming and Jerry Fleming, both of Stonewall, Thad Fleming of Columbus, Hal Fleming and Van Fleming, both of Quitman, Mac Fleming of Detroit, Mich., Baker Fleming of Hitchcock, Texas, and Larry Fleming of Collinsville; three sisters, Jimmie Dale Kennedy of Quitman, Dean Edwards of Dubbley, La., and Jackie Wells of Cleveland, Texas; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Dorothy Fleming; and a brother, Ed Fleming.
    Pallbearers will be Frank Burr, Pete McDonald, Clyde Parker, Jeff Colston, Jimmy Kidd, Wayne Busby, Walter Hitchcock and Jackie Herrington.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Reeves and Marvin Ware.
    Visitation will be today beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
