May 9, 2026 

Carlos Leon Borden, 81, of Russellville, passed away May 9. Visitation took place at Spry Memorial Chapel on May 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The service took place at Spry Memorial Chapel on May 15 at 11 a.m. Burial was in Tharptown Holiness Cemetery. 

Granville “Lee” Cagle
May 9, 2026 

Granville “Lee” Cagle, 87, of Athens, passed away May 9. Visitation took place at Lawrence Funeral Home on May 14 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with the service immediately following. Brother Larry Davis officiated. Burial was in Owen Chapel Cemetery. 

Annette McInnish Swinney

Annette McInnish Swinney, 86, of Phil Campbell, passed away May 9. Visitation took place at Spry Memorial Chapel on May 14 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with the funeral immediately following. Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Teresia Ann Burleson, 72, of Hackelburg, passed away May 8. Visitation took place at Cedar Tree Methodist Church in Hackelburg on May 13 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. with the service immediately following. Burial was in Cedar Tree Cemetery.

Buell Dutton Cansler, 78, of Phil Campbell, passed away May 8. Visitation took place at Spry Memorial Chapel on May 12 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. with the service immediately following. Burial was in Spruce Pine Cemetery.

Sydney Fae Westbrook, stillborn, of Spruce Pine, passed away May 7. A graveside service was held at Mt. Hope Cemetery on May 12 at 3:30 p.m.
