Courthouse annex to get roof repairs
RUSSELLVILLE — The Franklin County Commission has awarded a $21,632 contract to Mid-America Roofing Inc. for roof repairs to the courthouse annex after storm damage caused shingles to come off the roof and led to leaks.
Probate Judge Barry Moore, who serves as chairman of the county commission, said a recent storm caused the damage and required prompt action to prevent further problems.
The commission reviewed three bids before selecting Mid-America Roofing, which submitted the lowest bid at $21,632. Baker’s Roofing submitted a bid of $22,200, and MG Roofing submitted a bid of $31,300.
The contract covers work on two sections of the building identified in the bid documents as Building A and Building B, both located behind the main courthouse.
The bid totals allocate $14,700 of the project cost to work on Building B and $6,932 to work on Building A.
The scope of work includes removing damaged roofing materials, inspecting the underlying roof structure, replacing damaged wood where necessary, and installing new protective layers and shingles.
