Sophomore Randi Terry stepped up in this contest with a team-high 11 kills. Tate again provided 16 assists, and senior Bryn Scott anchored the defense with 16 digs.

The Lady Bulldogs carried their momentum into Thursday with a three-set win over Phillips (26-24, 25-18, 25-21). Hovater and Terry combined for 20 kills, Scott tallied 20 digs, and Tate added another 16 assists.

Phil Campbell began its week on the road at Shoals Christian, where the Lady Bobcats came up short. Against the Flame, Aspen Misner had 15 assists, Ragan Moss 12 digs, and nine kills.

They faced another tough opponent on Thursday against Haleyville, falling in three close sets to the Lions (23-25; 21-25; 17-25). Moss had 19 digs, and Misner had 14 assists.

Red Bay opened its week on the road at Tharptown. After a 2-0 loss to the host Lady Wildcats, the Lady Tigers rallied to defeat Phillips 2-0. They returned home on Thursday but suffered a 3-0 defeat against Class 4A Hamilton.
