2 arrested for drug possession
RUSSELLVILLE – Two people are facing multiple drug-related charges following an investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, according to Sgt. Kyle Palmer Dartarian Cruz, 38, of Russellville faces drugrelated charges after sheriff’s deputies initiated a traffic stop on July 9 on Limestone Street Southwest.
Cruz, who was driver of the vehicle, was found to have 8.27 grams of crystal meth on his person.
Cruz was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Cruz also faces two counts of drug trafficking after investigators discovered his involvement in a case which resulted in the arrest of Bernard Phinizee, 52, of Russellville on June 26.
A glass pipe with meth residue in the pipe also was found in the passenger seat where Julieana Wayteck, 27, of Russellville was seated. Deputies also found brass knuckles in Wayteck’s possession, as well as Gabapentin and Neurontin pills on her person, according to Palmer..
Wayteck was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of brass knuckles.
Both were booked into the Franklin County Jail where they remain. Cruz is being held on a $150,000 bond and Wayteck is being held on a $50,000 bond.
