Vina dominates Homecoming night

The Vina Red Devils continued their season with a 50-6 Homecoming win over the Tharptown Wildcats, improving to 4-1 on the season. The Wildcats got on the board first, scoring on a 20-yard touchdown pass giving the Wildcats an early 6-0 lead in the first quarter.

The Red Devils bounced back and scored on a fiveyard touchdown run by Kai Lawler, tying the game at 6-6. Vina scored another touchdown just before the end of the quarter on a five-yard touchdown run by Trevor Baker, extending the Vina lead to 14-6 with 0:15 remaining in the first quarter.

The Red Devils scored on a 50-yard rushing touchdown by Kai Lawler, extending their lead to 20-6 with 6:51 left in the second quarter.

Following a muffed kickoff by Tharptown, recovered by Vina, the Red Devils scored on a 30-yard touchdown run again by Kai Lawler, making the score 28-6 with 5:53 left in the second quarter. Vina managed to get a big stop on defense, followed by a 50-yard pass completion and a fiveyard touchdown run by Branson Vick, extending the lead to 34-6 with 2:42 left in the first half.

Just before halftime, the Red Devils tacked on one more score following a 30-yard Hail Mary caught by Branson Vick, making the halftime score 42-6. The Vina Red Devils beat the Tharptown Wildcats 50-6.

MyliScott Barnett was crowned Homecoming Queen. In other Franklin County action, Phil Campbell lost to Hackleburg 42-12. Red Bay lost to Belmont (MS) 40-14. Belgreen lost Cherokee 44-0.
