County volleyball teams continue season

Phil Campbell improved their record to 8-6 with wins over Belgreen (2-0) and Shoals Christian (2-0).

Against Belgreen, Britney Coffman had nine kills. Bradley McDaniel had seven kills and five digs. Mia Ambrosio had seven digs.

Against Shoals Christian, Britney Coffman had six kills and Roxi Molina had four service aces.

Phil Campbell will start area play this week playing Colbert County twice and Colbert Heights. The Bobcats will also play Shoals Christian and Haleyville. On Saturday, Phil Campbell will play in the First Metro Tournament at Muscle Shoals High School against Florence, Lexington and Loretto, Tenn.

Belgreen

Belgreen beat Waterloo in a best three out of five match 3-0. The Bulldogs lost to Phil Campbell 2-0 and Shoals Christian 2-1. Belgreen also participated in a tournament at Russellville, beating Colbert Heights 2-1, but losing to Russellville 2-0 and Hamilton 2-0.

In last week’s games, Bryn Scott had 96 digs. Alayna Tate had 57 assists, 34 digs and three serve aces. Carson Hovater had 29 kills, 10 digs, five blocks unassisted and three blocks assisted, and five serve aces. Randi Terry had 24 kills, 10 digs, and five serve aces.

Belgreen will host Russellville and Tharptown and travel to Mars Hill.
