RFD, RPD annual toy drive finishes

Along with help from students and others in the community, the annual toy drive lead by the Russellville Fire Department and Russellville Police Department has completed another year.

“We took applications later than we have in the past and received more than we have in the last few years,” explained. RFD’s Lt. Andy DeVaney. “Although we don’t see the children on Christmas, because of the generosity of our local businesses, organizations and citizens, I know a lot of children will have a smile on their face on Christmas morning.”

DeVaney said he would like to thank Brandi with RPD for a lot of help with the paperwork, as well as the rest of the RFD and their families for a lot of hours of work shopping, bagging and distributing toys.

“We appreciate all our local support. This year, we helped just over 250 children,” he added, noting it’s all about coming together as a community to make a difference.”
