Joseph J. Kaufman
Joseph J. Kaufman, 66, of Phil Campbell, formerly of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., passed away Sept. 16 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. He was born in Lima, Ohio, Aug. 25, 1957, and worked in construction and roofing all of his life.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Glenda Kay Kaufman; mother, Terese Uphaus Kaufman; daughter, Shannon R. Gunter (Jeremy); sons, Joseph J. Kaufman, Jr., James D. Thomason (Michelle); sister, Marie Kihm (Brent); brothers, William Kaufman, Anthony Kaufman; grandchildren, Trinity, Logan and Jesse Thomason; William and Gavriella Gunter, Piper Carr; great-granddaughter, Jennifer Zettlemoyer; niece, Amber Kihm; nephew, Tyler Kihm (Ariel); and great-nephew, Kaysen Kihm.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ambrose J. Kaufman, and his brother, Greg Kaufman.
A memorial service will be held Sept. 30, at 2 p.m. at the New Harmony Baptist Church located in Phil Campbell. Akins Funeral Home is directing.
