Enjoy spring season with a scavenger hunt

Courtesy of the Franklin County Cooperative Extension

If your children – or you! – need a little extra motivation to get outdoors and enjoy a beautiful spring day, why not challenge yourself to a scavenger hunt?

See if you can find the following:

  • A red bird and a blue bird
  • Flowers just starting to grow
  • A squirrel
  • A rabbit
  • Something rough and something smooth
  • One yellow item, one blue item, one red item and one brown item
  • The sound of a bird singing or chirping – can you copy the sound?
  • Animal tracks
  • Tree seeds, like pinecones and “helicopters”
  • Three different types of trees – if they don’t have leaves yet, try distinguishing them based on the bark
  • Another animal besides a rabbit, bird or squirrel
