Belgreen girls top Phil Campbell 8-1

The Belgreen Bulldogs beat the Phil Campbell Bobcats Monday 8-1.

Belgreen scored three runs in the second inning and three in the third to take a commanding 6-0 lead. The Phil Campbell girls scored their lone run in the fourth inning before the Bulldogs added two more in the sixth.

Makayla Willingham got things started in the second inning with an RBI single scoring Lily Blackburn. Morgan Vandiver and Willingham scored on fielder’s choice.

Madison Vandiver’s two RBI single in the third inning scoring Bryn Scott and Morgan Vandiver extended Belgreen’s lead to 5-0. Blackburn scored her second run of the game on a fielder’s choice.

Noelle Willingham, Blackburn and Morgan Vandiver all had two hits each. Vandiver and Makayla Willingham both had two runs batted in. Blackburn scored two runs.

Blackburn also led the Bulldogs in the circle, going four and a third innings, allowing two hits and one run.

Jade Roberson scored the Bobcats’ lone run in the game.
