Library plans for November

All the treats of October are now in our rearview, and we have a new month ahead. November brings us so many wonderful things to look forward to!

We know some of our patrons are distracted this time of year with hunting season. Every skilled sportsman knows the importance of being knowledgeable in their craft, and the library has got you covered with all types of books on the outdoors, hunting, animal behavior and survival tips for extreme weather conditions.

We also know that with the holidays coming up, many of you will be busy getting ready for family dinners, parties, shopping and more. The library has several books on recipes, crafting, traditions, decor, event planning and even budgeting and couponing – so come on down and take advantage of all the library has to offer.

Don’t forget we have movies for your enjoyment as well. We have several of your holiday favorites, like “You’ve Got Mail,” “Planes, Trains and Automobiles,” “Home for the Holidays” and more – all available to check out, for free, at the library.

This week we will be hosting our monthly First Friday story time for Pre-K children. If you haven’t registered your child, please do! We would love to see y’all Friday at 10:30 a.m. Each story time includes a story, craft and a snack. Call 256-332-1535 to register your little one.

Speaking of the little ones, here are some of our favorite children’s books to read during the month of November:

  • “Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf” by Lois Elhert
  • “The Lonely Scarecrow” by Tim Preston
  • “The Little Pilgrim” by Brandy Daugherty
  • “Run, Turkey Run!” by Diane Mayr
