Red Bay runs over Sheffield

Red Bay powered its way past the Sheffield Bulldogs Friday night with a dominating rushing attack, winning 24-12.

The Tigers passed just one time for the entire game, running the ball 57 times for 316 yards. That one pass completion was a 34-yard touchdown from Kolby Bragwell to Jalen Vinson.

“We played our most complete game of the season,” said Red Bay coach Michael Jackson. “We were able to outrush them 350 to three yards and control the time of possession.”

Colbie King was the leading rusher for the Tigers with 170 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. Bragwell rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries from the quarterback position.

Red Bay scored 24 unanswered points before the Bulldogs got on the board in the fourth quarter.

The Tigers’ first score came on a three-yard run by Bragwell. A two-point conversion run by King gave Red Bay an 8-0 lead late in the first quarter.

Red Bay scored its next touchdown just before halftime on the 34-yard touchdown connection from Bragwell to Vinson to give the Tigers a 16-0 lead.

Red Bay scored early in the third quarter on a 67-yard run by King, and Bragwell added the two-point conversion to make the score 24-0.

Sheffield scored twice in the fourth quarter, but Red Bay allowed the Bulldogs just 152 total yards.

The Tigers host Colbert County Friday night.
