New Belgreen High School coach John Smith is hosting a softball camp for children in second grade through sixth grade.

The camp will be held Aug. 21-22 starting a 3:30 p.m. each day at the Lady Bulldog softball field. The cost is $35.

“We want to continue to grow and build the Belgreen softball program and introduce the game to as many youngsters in the area as possible,” said Smith, who was recently hired to take over the program. “Softball is a great game that builds teamwork and friendships. We want as many girls as possible to be a part of the sport.”

Campers are to bring softball attire and also think about sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.

All softball skills will be addressed, Smith said.

Rain-out dates will be Aug. 28-29.

For more information contact Smith at 256-476-4641.
