Make time for Hoedown festival
Some of the greatest treasures of Franklin County are the community festivals that recur each year.
In the coming months our communities will turn out for defining events like Vina’s JulyFest, Red Bay Founders Day, Spruce Pine Day, the Spirit of Hodges Festival and, of course, the Franklin County Watermelon Festival. These community gatherings and more are sprinkled throughout the year, but you don’t have to wait much longer for the first opportunity.
Festival season in Franklin County begins this weekend, with the Phil Campbell Hoedown.
The 17th annual Hoedown is scheduled for June 15-16 in downtown Phil Campbell, and the schedule is packed full of all the best festival entertainment. Whether you’re in it for the music, the car show, the 5K, the contests or the vendors, there’s something for everyone at the Hoedown.
We encourage you to make plans to join your friends and neighbors this weekend for some good family-friendly fun. It’s easy to let an occasion like a community festival pass you by and find yourself saying, “Oh, I meant to go this year. Maybe next year.”
As “they” say, there is no time like the present.
