Our thanks to first responders
It’s no surprise that our area goes on high alert anytime there is a chance for tornado weather. People in Franklin County will always remember the devastation we experienced seven years ago and the how it forever changed the way we anticipate severe weather.
Franklin County did experience some tornadic activity last night, though thankfully nothing so destructive or wide-reaching as the April 27, 2011 events. With reports of wind, tornado and hail damage across the county, there will be work to do to recover from the short burst of Monday storms.
Immediately as the threat passed by, citizens were already out assessing the damages. Among them were Franklin County’s first responders.
We want to commend our dedicated police, fire, rescue, emergency management and other first responders, both professionals and volunteers, for their ready willingness to go straight to work in events like Monday night’s.
These men and women are called to action in so many negative and even dangerous situations, and we should never forget to appreciate their commitment to the safety and wellbeing of Franklin County.
