Lady Tigers split week of games

By Bart Moss for the FCT

The Red Bay Tigers picked up a split last week, defeating Hackleburg 11-3 and losing to Hamilton 16-6.

Red Bay 11, Hackleburg 3

Red Bay scored four runs in the first inning, and that was all they would end up needing as they went on to route the Hackleburg Panthers 11-3.

Hackleburg scored first, getting two runs in the top of the first. It would be the only lead the Panthers would have. Red Bay answered with four runs in the bottom of the first. The Tigers scored two more in the second to take a 6-2 lead.

Hackleburg scored one in the top of the sixth to make the score 6-3, then Red Bay put the game away in the bottom of the inning, scoring five runs to take an 11-3 lead.

Annaliese Rogers led the way at the plate for Red Bay with two hits, three runs and an RBI. Emma McCollister, Jordyn McKinney and Lila Blackburn scored two runs each. Khloe Knoblock had four runs batted in and was also the winning pitcher with eight strikeouts.
