Mary Jo Hester Britton

Mary Jo Hester Britton, age 83, Russellville, passed away March 23 at Helen Keller Hospital.

The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. March 25 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. March 26 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jerry Hester and Bro. Kris Green officiating. Burial will be in Belgreen Cemetery.

Mary Jo was born Aug. 5, 1932, to the late Kelly and Annie Hester and attended Belgreen High School. Mary Jo was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her flowers and quilting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rayburn Britton; sons, Tommy Britton and Gary Britton; and sisters, Betty Cantrell and Dorothy Oliver.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Jimmy Britton and wife Judy; grandchildren, Heather King and husband Jonathan, Tommy Britton and wife Leigh, Matthew Britton and wife Kim, Marty Britton, Katy Graham and husband Alex and Krystle Farris; great-grandchildren, Cole King, Will King, Anna Claire King, Mackenzie Britton, Natalee Britton and Hayden Malone; sisters, Marjorie Steele, Carolyn White and Jennifer Butler; and brothers, Mike Hester and Ricky Hester.

The pallbearers were Tommy, Matt and Marty Britton and Jonathan King, Alex Graham and Mitchell Oliver. Honorary pallbearers were Cole King, Will King and Hayden Malone.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Crandell, Red Bay Hospital, 4th floor staff of Helen Keller Hospital, Pleasant Bay Ambulance and Rockwood Baptist Church for the love and care shown to the family.
